I think its hard to tell the selection from TV...to what they see on the ice.

There are plenty of head scratchers on why a guy waits (Keith) or misses by a foot (Campbell) from the points...but you really cant see the lanes that they do, so you almost just need to trust what they see/did at the time....as frustrating as it was.

I think TB just did a really good job. I think I heard that including yesterday, they've only given up 6goals in the last 5 games.

Tampa clogged the zone. Did not allow them long possession. Most of the shots were either poor selection, hesitation, and or missed the net. The Hawks hit the cross bar twice in the 3rd and had one flutter just over the cross bar. One of those was the best save of the night for Smith I thought. Remember the lightening hit the post as well and almost scored on that play, which at the time would have made it 2-0.

Tampa played a very similar game as Boston did the other night, which was very similar to the Ducks two games previous. They clog the zone and don't allow much possession or speed through the zone.

Hawks get the first goal last night I think it's a different game plan for Tampa because then they need to press to get the game back even.

Campbell and Kieth both missed the net wide left in the 3rd that had they been on net both would have gone it. Smith was now where near the cover on the pipe.

Frolik had two excellent chances. If he could find some finish the goal total and W's would rise for the Hawks. He has at least 1-2 very quality scoring chances per game.

Great. Now everyone knows how to play the Hawks.

Get two lines going that doesn't work so well. Unfortunately the 2nd line has no Center right now. Bolland and Sharp being out are huge, primarily because of the position on the ice they play. This team was light at Center before they went out. With both of them out we are calling players from Europe the depth is so bad.

It seems the Hawks have always had the ability to adjust (as they did in the playoffs last year)...where if they played TB again the next day - I think they'd smoke them. It's why I'm pretty confident with them in the playoffs.

The best thing to come out of the Lightning game is that there are no more F'N games on WGN this season!

Tampa played a terrific 1-3-1 zone Sunday night. I thought I was watching a basketball game. Two more points. Did someone post earlier Brouwer is playing himself out of Chicago? REALLY? That made me laugh. And as much as I hated Eager I'm starting to miss that 4th line.

Hey....I said it and I'm a Brouwer fan. Was since day 1 of him here when lots of people would ***** that he's too slow, couldnt skate, etc.

The reason I say that he was playing himself out was for whatever reason, he's been on 3rd/4th line duties...not getting PP time (is of late - but wouldnt if Bolland and Sharp were here). The fact he's a RFA at 1mil already....how much do you think they'll pay a 3rd/4th line winger thet doesnt play special teams? He and Kopecky both will probably earn the same amount. Kopecky has played on the 2nd,3rd, and 4th lines. Has played center at times. Plays on the PP (thats been top rated all year).

I would love to see him stay (and would rather move Bickell - but he's signed for a cap friendly 540K for 2 more years)...hence I don't see them giving Brouwer a big raise. I hope I'm wrong though...I like the guy.

Oh...and Hossa is at about 74% of GP and climbing, at that horrible contract. And thats giving you the fact he missed the majority of that when everyone knew he needed surgery coming in that first year.
