I think its hard to tell the selection from TV...to what they see on the ice.
There are plenty of head scratchers on why a guy waits (Keith) or misses by a foot (Campbell) from the points...but you really cant see the lanes that they do, so you almost just need to trust what they see/did at the time....as frustrating as it was.
I think TB just did a really good job. I think I heard that including yesterday, they've only given up 6goals in the last 5 games.
Tampa clogged the zone. Did not allow them long possession. Most of the shots were either poor selection, hesitation, and or missed the net. The Hawks hit the cross bar twice in the 3rd and had one flutter just over the cross bar. One of those was the best save of the night for Smith I thought. Remember the lightening hit the post as well and almost scored on that play, which at the time would have made it 2-0.
Tampa played a very similar game as Boston did the other night, which was very similar to the Ducks two games previous. They clog the zone and don't allow much possession or speed through the zone.
Hawks get the first goal last night I think it's a different game plan for Tampa because then they need to press to get the game back even.
Campbell and Kieth both missed the net wide left in the 3rd that had they been on net both would have gone it. Smith was now where near the cover on the pipe.
Frolik had two excellent chances. If he could find some finish the goal total and W's would rise for the Hawks. He has at least 1-2 very quality scoring chances per game.
