LMAO...to the TCD jokes

I bring up that people were so excited that Smith was gdoing squats and working out like an animal to make the team...

And Stalberg has looked good in the preseason so far. Maybe he worked harder this off season as well and will try to play/define his role better this season.

Toews said he was a player he can see having a breakout year.

Why does this guy get bashed so much? He played 10min a game...on a new team last year...playing on all different line. Of course he's going to try to do a lot to fit in. His game wasn't a run around/bang and crash - but he did a good job of that in the playoffs last year.

So why not see what he does on the 3rd/4th line this year? If he can get 15g/15a in 10-12min a game, I don't see that as a reason to not like the guy's game.

Well I honestly don't pay attention much to what they do in the offseason as I expect all of them to bust their ass just as hard as the next. Any comments that I've made about Smith were based on my impression of him in the playoffs. You keep going back to the 10 minutes per game like it's not big deal. He only played 10 minutes per game and did ok, what do you expect... well guess what, HE COULD ONLY GET 10 MINUTES A GAME. That's how bad he was. He was as high as 17 at times and as low as 4. He was inconsistent. And Q has always made players work for their minutes and he couldn't get them. Everyone's favorite Pisani, and even Jake Dowell averaged more than him and I would strongly argue they don't have near the ability as Stalberg. He was giving opportunities with the top line, and didn't make anything of them, and then he was given opportunities on the bottom lines and played like he was still auditioning on the top line. He's not a 3/4th line guy, period. His game doesn't translate to it. And he's not solid enough yet to be on the 1st or 2nd line.

He had 5 goals and 5 assists after new years, which he was basically your 10 minute man role right there. That's 10/10 at 84 games. Not much to like there those are Jake Dowell numbers, and people don't seem too high on him.

I would think bigger worries than Stalberg's hands of stone are -

Can Bickell score within 5 feet of the net or continue to play like he's 5'6?

What will Olesz bring?

How many dipshit penalties will Carcillo take before he's sitting in the press box? - took some last game already

Frolik got big dollars this off season - is he going to be 11g Fro - or the 20+ guy?

Bickell put up better numbers than Brouwer last year, and Brouwer got a fat contract.

I never said that all those weren't concerns, I think of them though only maybe Bickell's is bigger. He's at that something has to break moment like Stalberg.

Olesz is more of a would be nice, I'm not really expecting much out of him because I don't expect much out of him. Unfortuantely his salary is too large to be called a throw in player in the Campell trade, but he's as forgotten as can be, especially coming off injury. My hope is that with no pressure or eyes on him with the superstars around him, that he'll have a breakout year.

Carcillo, I don't worry about at all, it's going to happen, might as well not worry about it, luckily it's not Philly where they foster the behavior, and Q will have him on a short lesh so my only worry is if it starts costing games. And then he'll be in the press box, which... who cares? JOHN SCOTT! I keeed I keeed.

Frolik could be a worry, but it's just dollars and we aren't crunched. I expect him to be no worse than last year, which would be a waste at that price, but not hurting the team overall as long as he's fulfilling a role. I expect him to start where he finished. (pinned above TCDs bed)

Stalberg scored more goals than Frolik last year...who got a big contract

And yes, he was inconsistant. As a lot of players are their first full year and on a new team. Which is why...I don't understand why he is labeled as sucks, bust, etc. Feel free to look at how it takes players time to develop sometimes.

How did Lieno do in DET? Where is he now?

How many goals did Brouwer have his first year?

I can list alot more players that it took time to find their role on a team. It's not like it's his 5th year and he's 30

I never said that he was a bust, I just don't think it serves any purpose to have him on the team as a 3/4th line player when he's obviously not, and it's good enough yet, consistent enough yet, to unseat anyone on the top two lines.

I'm not sold on Stahlberg after seeing what he brought last year. But for the numbers he put up in the mins. per game Q gave him, the production is there for a 4th line player. He's frustrating to watch though. Hopefully the captian is right and he'll have a breakout year.

Agreed Bickell needs to shed himself of the Byfuglien complex. Olesz has looked solid in the games I've seen him play. As for Smith, didnt see any youtube. Last I seen smith > stalberg. Hey I was excited when we got stalberg I thought he was ready to break out. Well he didnt. I'd take Ben Smith over Stalberg any day.

I call bullshit, there is very little that someone doesn't beat off to somewhere, TCD is a prime example of strange stroking habits.

I just jerked off to this post.

He can play up to 9 games before sending him down.

at this point he still has no contract.

He can play 9 games or can play the whole season right? If they send him down he just can't be recalled?

So many roster rules... I can't keep them straight.
