TGDT: 9/30 Penguins (4-0-0) vs. Blackhawks (2-2-1)

I hope that all of the stretching Toews was doing during the stoppages is not an indication of something worse. He had looked like a beast most of the preseason, almost like he is ready to rip off 20 goals in 30 games or something like that.

Saad has more than earned the 9 game look. Be interesting to see how he is against full lineups. Just going to be a big dilemma about keeping him up because of the ELC. But then Olesz's contract might be the tipping point to keeping him at the NHL level and sending Saad down. Mostly because of roster space, but also because...

Pirri should be up. He has more than shown it in the pre-season. Now if I can just stop thinking it is Burish out there when he plays.

As far as the game last night, it was interesting. The 'Hawks really had their chances, and could have scored 5+. The Pens are a good team, there is no doubt about it, but Emery just made them look better with giving up 3 goals on the Pens first 10 shots. And it is not like they were getting quality opportunities.

I am not surprised that Sulivan scored. Just seems like he does that every game against the 'Hawks.

He was cross checked in front of the net about three times just before that. Looked like he was stretching his back and I completely agree.

And Johnson played extremely well last night. He won the game for the Pens as must as we lost the game for us.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Pirri>Kruger. Right now I see no reason why he couldn't center Hossa/Sharp or Hossa/Brunette. Keep Sharp/Kane on the wing.

Hell, for the 1st 9 games (or until Sharp returns), my top 2 would be Saad/Toews/Kane and Brunette/Pirri/Hossa. Swap Saad for sharp when he heals.

Emery is better than Huet IMO.

WRONG!

Unless last night was an aberration, Emery does not have the foot speed/skating ability to play at the NHL level any longer. Sad to say after all he's been through.

I thought he played pretty well, but the Hawks' ineptitude around the net helped him a lot as well.

Johnson made some excellent glove saves in the 3rd. Inept Hawks or not.

They also had over 30 SOG as well. Some excellent shots in the 3rd.

I meant more in need for the Hawks. I don't think they are that far off in talent either.

Especially not for the big ole WRONG... And I +d that to equal out the minus. With love.

Yea I'm still in Chicago. I have a house in Montana that some day I'll maybe spend my summers if the wife allows it.

Have you secured mineral rights to your property there?

Just sayin'
