The ineffective PP that has been ailing them lately is what bit them. Hope there will be no more OTs in this series as I can't take them, especially not these marathon ones.

Lessons learned for the next game. I hope this loss stings a little extra and motivates them to play much better the rest of the series. I'd like to think they don't get demoralized because of losing this marathon battle and play crap from now on.

kane and toews were pretty good for guys that have missed a lot of games. that should be a confidence boost also. Q can get his lines back in order now i hope after seeing what toews and kane could do after a long break. i would like to see hossa back with toews myself. hossa isnt as effective without him in my opinion. hossa kind of a lost dog tonight at times.

for me this game was sort of a test for kane and toews as im sure it was for them and q also. test passed. too bad it went too bloodly long. thats my biggest gripe of the game. too long for a game one esp to lose it.

Q and Handzus can both go **** themselves. Oh, and Hammer had an awful game aside from that hit.... Oduya...fucking sucks. Morin should slot in for Handzus in game 2, but I won't be holding my breath.

you kidding me about hammer? he blocked a shit load of shots and threw the hardest hits in the game. probably the toughest player on the hawks and he showed it again tonight.

sometimes we all must watch different games or have one bad play stick out and trump all the good plays from a player. hammer made a couple gaffs but he more than made up for them. oduya also even though im still bummed out over that turn over from him that cost the tying goal. lucky he scored in the first even though that was a really bad goal that miller allowed. hammer in my opinion was better tonight than seabrook who gaffed so many shots and was caught out of position many times. keith bailed him out a lot. but how dare anyone say something negative about seabrook. but at the end of the day defense really wasnt an issue. couldnt score in four periods of hockey after the first period? not going to win games. and yes Q gets blame for some of that.

i dont like oduya playing in the last couple minutes protecting a lead. ill agree totally on that. i said it before and i mean it i would rather have brookbank in those cases. sounds crazy i know but oduya just isnt stable this season in those situations.

handzus has no right being on the team right now after watching morin leading up to these playoffs. anyone who thinks morin isnt playoff ready is drunk or stupid.

Hammer was covering ABSOLUTELY NOBODY on two of their goals. The last one being the game winner. If he's even CLOSE to being in position, those goals probably don't happen. Yes, great fucking hit, but...-2 for a reason.

Oduya is Chris Campoli. Seriously.

Hawks were heavily outcoached in this one. Hitch is loving that Oduya/Hammer matchup against his top line, because all you have to do is pretend to check Oduya, and it's a turnover....

You want to know who blew it on the game winning goal Pez? It was Saad. Hammer covered the side of the net where he was supposed to be. He probably should have covered Ott better but look at fucking Saad stand still and watch HIS guy Steen streak in after Steen beat him. Saad was fucking lazy as shit on that goal. Toews coasted back into the play also. All three forwards were shit on that goal against.

Watch him get beat then stand still watching the play. Horrible. That was Ovechkin type shit.

Regin and Morin for Handzus and Bollig, please. Best way to hurt the Blues when they're running out of position to hit people is with your fastest lineup.

Not really. They didn't sit back till late in the 3rd. they botched a couple of powerplays in the third which would have put the blues away (and overtime of course). They started sitting back around the 7 minute mark and really sat back at the 4 minute mark. and Oduya shouldnt be a guy out there with just over a minute left to protect a lead. I like Oduya but not when protecting a lead. His turn over was pretty bad to be honest. Seen that a number of times this season. I would rather have brookbank out there with little time left on the clock..truth.

Putting Roszival on the point that early in the period was a mistake. They were far too passive the entire third period, and it cost them in the end. You can't willingly subject yourself to that much constant pressure for that long and hope to hold a one goal lead. I'm not saying they should go over the top agressive, but they had 2 powerplays where a goal comes pretty close to putting it out of reach, and they conceded.

This game was lost when they didn't respond properly to the Orpik hit on Toews.
