just the video on the ice was bad ass enough for me. then combined with the U2 cover, it was perfect. seeing the cup skated out by toews put me over the edge though. teared up like a *****.

wouldn't have missed that night for anything. i'll literally remember being and seeing that forever. well done.

I couldn't believe the quality of that. I've never seen such clear detail with that type of thing.

My favorite teams
 1. Portland Timbers
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
I just sat there speechless. It was truly an awesome event even though I was sitting some 2500 miles away in a bar that was good enough to have the game on the sound system and a large projector.

Hell, even the few redwing fans that were there said they liked what Chicago did with the 'hawks ceremony,

Uptown baby!
Also can I just say it was AWESOME to see how well Stosh looked! I am truly relieved that he seems recovered from whatever had him hospitalized over the summer. He looked good during the Training Camp Festival last month and now for this so that's totally re-assuring. He was totally clowning with the crowd when he got out his limo for the red carpet and was jokingly making his SC ring hand drop from all the weight. I just LOVES him.

The ceremony was amazing, the full ice pictures they were projecting, I couldn't believe it, I thought the crying was all over but a bit of emotion seeped out again. Was hilarious seeing Rocky walk out for his speech and all I could think about was he looked like the penguin, and with McD looking like the riddler and Blunk being Mr. Freeze, I keep expecting batman to be hanging in the rafters next to the banner! haha.

It was amazing, something all of us will never forget. Words cannot describe how long we waited for something like this, truly unforgettable.

I remember going to games when there was nobody in the building, I was so excited to get tickets back in 2001 that I went to the game with a terrible case of tonsilitis. Now I'm lucky enough to be entering my 3rd year as a season ticket holder and I'm so grateful because I got to experience the Cup run in person and got to see a banner raised to signify that the team I grew up living and mostly dying with was the best in the World.

The end.

It was amazing.

Regret: spent a little too much time dicking w/ my camera, trying to get good shots than just enjoying and getting caught up in the moment.

not tivo-ing it, like a dumbass...that's what rushing to leave will do I guess.

Pros: LOVED the ice being used as a projection screen. I hope they keep that equipment in place for future intros, that was so bad ass!

got to try on a ring from an employee--they are amazing up close.

All in all, VERY well done. Kudos to the folks who put that whole thing together.

Forgot to mention that I kept yelling at the tv because comcast kept cutting to crowd scense and people taking pictures and holding up their phones, I didn't want to see any of that shit, just show me the ice and the show.

NO KIDDING. Not to mention you could barely see the people anyway because it was so dark. I was also mad at the split screen crap. Half of my screen is pitch black crowd shots and the other half is what I want to see. I guess thats my fault for being too cheap to drop $100+ on SRO seats...
I am still going through my pics of that night. Was awesome a great gesture to have the '61 team hand off the banner to the kids.

Well done Hawks!
Also, the Hawks don't play well in banner ceremonies or special nights as it is. Let's take a look at the past several.

1) Hull / Mikita night - March 2008 - Lost to San Jose (MAJOR let down when tying goal waved off).

2) Esposito night - we won - nice game by Huet

3) Pierre Pilot night - lost in OT or shootout

4) Stanley Cup - lost to Detroit

So we're 1-2-1 in special nights over the past 3 seasons. Ouch!
I think Habby played on Espo night.

It will probably lose a little luster in about a year when they do it all over again.
