Don't kill me but I have a 13 year old daughter...
She listens to her songs in the car when we go out somewhere...
I usually don't care for her music... ( I bring this up because of the earlier Beiber statement)...
But then this guy came on and I have to say... I thought he was pretty good... so I asked if she had anymore of his stuff and she did... and it was all pretty good.
She played a few songs and I thought they seemed original (as it gets today with everything done)... and it has some thought, soul, good sound. story, etc...
I asked who it was and she said Bruno Mars... I don't know anything about him... but I can stand him when her and her friends are in the car...
Besides... they hate Rush, Boston, Journey, Van Halen, Floyd, triumph, etc, etc... so I let them pick...

its pretty sad now adays you have to find the indie/underground bands to find any talent. the stuff that gets aired on the radio is garbage

With respect to your LZ skinscar, I don't get it.

Most of the time, Plant sounds like a guy getting "worked over wtih a blow torch and a pair of pliers." Every song is 10 minutes long (or seems like it) and the first three minutes is always them 'tuning their instraments' or rambling off on a tangent to 'fill time'.

I don't like that; it hurts my ears. :shot:

But Stairway is on my top 10 favorite song list, top 5 depending on my mood, for what that's worth. ;-p

I completely respect your opinion and I learned a looooong time ago that music is totally subjective. I'm not going to argue about it, as I could for hours, as I'm sure you could about a number of bands!

That said, I really have no desire to argue after the Stairway comment. Stairway is your favorite? Put it this way, my three favorite bands are Zeppelin, NiN and Tool. When I talk my favs and I ask people what their favorite songs are from my top 3 and they say "Stairway" or "Closer/Hurt," I hurt inside. (I'd add a Tool song, like Sober or Stinkfist, but Tool never had super popluar publicity or radio play) I'm sure you could say the same thing to me, if asked the same question about some of your favorites, so I mean no insult to you personally, just a pet peeve, since I'm a snob!
