Let me preface this by saying this is predicated on it really being Poles pick but reading the tea leaves I think Johnson while liking Chicago will likely go somewhere he can pick his GM and a smaller market.

I dont think the Bears will like the optics of a first time HC forcing a GM out so if Johnson doesnt want to work with Poles then I think Poles opts for a guy he is very familiar with in Brian Flores.

Warren will sign off because of the rave reviews his Minny connections have given on Flores. Hiring Flores like Johnson weakens a division rival although it comes with the downside of giving Minny 2 3rd round picks in 2025 and 2026.

Flores also makes sense because several players from Kmet to JJ to Gordon to Byard to Allen have spoken about needing a coach to instill discipline and Flores does not **** around.

We also know Flores doesnt have a problem challenging shitty owners or upper management as he told Ross to **** off when Ross wanted him to tank and turned him in for tampering with Brady the Dolphins a 1st. So he will also hold the ownership and upper management accountable which is what this franchise needs.

Now the biggest issue with Flores is his handling of the the QB and O. His OCs in Miami left a lot to be desired and he obviously has issues with Tua. Having said that he would naturally only take the job if he believed in Caleb and he saw Caleb upclose and personal twice so likely has an idea of what Caleb needs to improve. Caleb struggles againat the blitz and Flores likely has a lot of insights on how a QB might attack the blitz given his heavy blitzing scheme. Not to mention Caleb should improve as a result of having to practice against the blitz a **** ton.

I think Flores will also be good for Caleb in ensuring he focuses on the fundamentals namely his footwork and mechanics which IMO is the root cause of Caleb's accuracy issues. Flores IMO will also ensure Caleb stays disciplined when it comes to taking what the D gives him and not eating sacks as don't think Flores will tolerate that sort of stupidity from his QB.

Of course the other big question for Flores is who he gets as an OC but that is a bit of an unknown at this point although a few decent options that he has connections with like McDaniels, O'Brien exist.

I do love that is the polar opposite of Matt Eberflus and will literally decapitate Tyrique Stevenson for even pulling a fraction of the stupid shit he did this season.

Building a capable offensive staff is a bit of a concern, but as much as I like him...I don't see the McCaskeys signing off unless he drops the lawsuit like tomorrow.

Great way to support your QB by picking the one head coach who's young QB publicly said made his life a living hell and made him perform worse
You mean the concussion prone QB who is now out because he has a broken ass?

Think Flores was right. Tua aint built for this and Herbert is better.

But jokes aside, dont think Tua situation is relevant here. He wanted Herbert and the GM drafted Tua which caused the issue. In this scenario it only makes sense for him to accept the job if he is sold on Caleb so no reason for conflict. In addition, I think Poles will give him the players he wants and finally I presume he has learned from the Tua debacle.

This is a way for the McCaskey's to get in the good graces of the NFL. Resolving the Flores situation for the NFL may get the NFL to stop having the refs **** them over.

@remydat delete this, big dawg. You already ruined Thomas Brown’s career with a thread, now you’re after Flores? Are you Elon’s accountant?

Wait until Flores decides he wants offensive continuity and keeps Brown on as OC.

Dumbass idea, which will be hilarious if it happened. Can't rule it out because Poles is a desperate dumbass.

They'll be slightly better next year but not nearly good enough to ever win anything.

He isn't the worst of the 'retreads' coaching category. You could do a lot worse than Flores.

I'd like how he'd change defensive schemes. I'm ready to ditch the 4-3/4-2-5 'cover who.' He knows how to get use out of modern college talents, and I love how he blitzes. Wouldn't be worried about the defensive makeover at all.

The Tua saga doesn't matter to me and wouldn't be why I'd rip my dick off--for me its saying how he'll instill "discipline" yet the Vikes D, his unit--are in the top 1/4 in the league in DPI and 2nd most in '12 men on field'--but hey, they don't jump compared to league averages (info from nflpenalties.com). I don't know if the McCaskeys/Warren care about that, those are the opinions that matter.

The main question is what's the plan on offense? Is he bringing Josh McCown with him? That's something I can get behind, but if not, I'd need to be convinced on a plan. McVay/Shanahan style are all the rage--so who's the candidate you're getting to run it? What's going to change on the OL?

Too many questions with the guy, at least compared with other candidates. Wouldn't hate the hire compared to some others.

Flores isn't a bad coach, he's just not the right one for this team.

Flores would bring the blitz . Rushing 4 is not getting the job done, Tua was soft mentally

Hell no.

This whole situation with Poles is so f-ed up. Is he staying is he going. Is he getting an extension or is it a lame duck show me situation.

No one who’s any good is coming here because this is one of the most idiotic organizations in every spot. That includes pop warner.
