One of those what if's that is hard to answer. As you don't know how GarPax counters not having Rose. For all we know the team rounds out nicely... But for all we know it doesn't. If I had to guess though, the Bulls would still be looking for a Superstar player. But you could say we're in that position now anyways.

idk if this was stated in the thread yet but aldridge isnt an alpha dog while rose is. Rose wouldnt market the team to other players. While Aldridge would have. Could have been a difference maker in attracting FA. Other then that I agree who knows what direction drafts would have gone in. Probably would have seen guys like Asik still drafted and kept in place of Noah. The rest would be all up in the air.

other things to consider we could have been on Derron Williams trade which would have been a disaster. Or been on the Chris Paul trade which would have worked out great.

The only flaw in it really is that the Bulls aren't really missing a center. They have one in Noah. And in the big if of if Thibs is never here, maybe Noah never gets ran into the ground.

Thibs still looks very appealing after dealing with Vinny...

Thibs may choose New Orleans over Chicago though based on the roster at the time.. for all we know. We simply do not know.

That was sorta my thought when I read this thread. I'm sure Rose would have been willing to bring a top-notch scorer to help the team whilst relieving him of some usage, but the difference is that Aldridge isn't really ball dominant. Aldridge be a lot more attractive as a post complement to whatever ball-dominant wing wants to come on to the team. Dont think that would sway LeBron or Wade from leaving in Miami, but it might have helped with Carmelo.

But does Melo still have knee issues and become useless after half the season? SO MANY VARIABLES!

Game 6 vs Boston never happened nor did he get mentored by Brad Miller

Noah unfortunately becomes a bust like he was planned to be and is traded for a conditional first round pick

Here's another in the "What if" game

If we kept Aldridge, would we have ever signed Ben Wallace? Would Skiles have been fired after that? Would Benny the Bull have morphed into his current version or still been the bloated, sad sack mascot he had been? Would the United Center Ice Cream man still be employed, shattering the eardrums of everyone within 5 feet of him at the stadium?

These questions could keep me up at night...

Skiles is the reason we didn't keep LMA because he scared the poor lad by staring at him for no reason...then pretty much disposed of Tyrus and wanted nothing to do with him

i blame Scott for us not keeping LMA and Tyrus being a bust....so yeah **** Skiles

Did that guy retire, get fired, or is he not with us anymore? I haven't heard him in a few years.
The answer is probably yes to all 3 of those questions

Yea there is ZERO proof of that at all.

The FO said they went with upside in that draft not that Skiles scared players. Plus the 4th pick was cheaper than the 2nd and they got another young player in the deal.

If he was dead, you could still probably here him shouting ICE CREAM!!!!! from the heavens so my guess is someone finally cut his tongue out after sustaining permanent hearing damage while attempting to buy his young son a chocolate cone.

i was joking but i do think under the right coach Tyrus may could have carved out a career for himself...just somebody to regin in his immaturity and tell him he isn't fucking Tracy McGrady...but in words he understands

i read a pre-draft interview from him and his attitude seeped through big time...im kinda surprised Bulls went for him i def think Gar or somebody convinced Paxson because Tyrus was so far from the typical Paxson mold

you can read it here...scroll down to NBA Pre-Draft Camp Media Day (Part One)
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Tyrus-Thomas-511/

it also shows that he had pretensions of being a SF ala Tracy McGrady...surprising they went with him

He was immature for sure. And the FO was blinded by his incredible athleticism, plus he did put on a stellar Final Four performance on the defensive end, and we all know Skiles was all about the D. The problem was that he had not played organized ball much (only a couple years in HS and the LSU). Coupled with his lack of maturity and sense of self entitlement, he was a bad fit from the get go. It really is a surprise Pax didn't see that when evaluating him.

Aldridge was always the best fit but he went with the untapped potential that time instead since we were winning. He bucked is own trend (drafting hard working, dedicated students of the game) and got burned for it. The only other time he did that was with James Johnson, who at least wasn't a lotto pick and was considered one of the best still on the board when selected.
