lol @ Ron thinking it would cost $820 to fill up my Sunfire.
What is the justification for raising gas 40 cents in one week? It was $3.59 and $3.69 at the beginning of the week. When I went to work this afternoon it was $3.99 and $4.09. I know they said it will go up because of the damage to the corn crops, but those crops wouldn't even be harvested yet. Plus that should only apply to the stuff that has Ethanol in it. I am tired of the oil companies and their crooked bullshit and even more angry that they are allowed to get away with it.
More likely, the increase is in response to the continued conflict in the Middle East. With these fucking camel blowing assholes keep things assed up in Syria and surrounding countries, you can bet yer last 2 drachmas the price isn't coming down soon. What would be nice is if the government would (and this is said with a great deal of sarcasm) throw a brother a bone and tell the oil companies that they are not allowed to raise the PPG more than 2-3 cents per day, instead of fucking 20 cents over goddamn nite!
There is a pipeline coming from Canada that's damaged in Wisconsin. It will not be operational until EPA approves it has been corrected. It's been all over the news.
It has nothing to do with the Middle East. It has to do with a pipeline in Wisconsin being shut down. Read above.

"The closure of the line, which transports mainly light crude to Chicago-area refineries, had little impact on U.S. oil futures, which dipped 5 cents to $90.08 a barrel in late Sunday trade. But a prolonged closure could support domestic prices in the cash market if regulators order additional work."
Even though US imports are at the lowest point since 1999 we still lead the World in OIL imports.
That said Canada supplies twice the oil for us as the middle East, BUT you are correct as conflicts arrise it defintely effects the market price per barrel. This just didn't happen to be one of those situations.
I think I saw on IHN somewhere that their was a train that derailed and 8 cars of alcohol fuel additive exploded... (I think 7 more were stuck but not exploded) so I would imagine 15 train cars of fuel additive not getting to the refinery isn't going to help much either.
