Been watching TT and I'm going to guess that Bears fan wisdom is not the case and it's more of a Bears fan excuse to blame the QB for everything on the team so everything can be focused on defense in spite of the QB being to blame for the defense too.

I like Matt Pryor as depth an awful lot. You're in trouble if you are starting him, but he's a backup who actually plays like a backup. That may sound like a backhanded compliment but the Bears OL has brought in a ton of backups who play like used car salesman so perhaps Matt has spoiled us with just bare competency. He's only going to make about $1.5-2M a year, for a competent backup who can at minimum handle 2 G spots and maybe the OTs in a pinch (i would hate to see him at LT for multiple games though) thats a good bang for your buck and he has been durable to boot. He also provides a known "floor" that perhaps can be viewed as insurance if the Bears take the very likely path of starting a rookie G day 1 next year.

Unfortunately, thanks to Rush, the policy here is that they want people who are absolute dicks to people just trying to talk football - can't fight city hall.
I'll give @nvanprooyen some credit on this - a year or two ago, he actually tried to clean this place up a bit, but a man doing it all by himself can only carry on so long. It's likely why quality posters like Dejo moved on - CCS has a reputation on being a worse dumpster fire than even Reddit...

I mean, if I am being honest, I think you have some hilariously bad takes and all, and being on the front page of the site doesn't help with that, but still, its your right to make those posts and have an opinion.
I don't get mad at people with strong football opinions - the people who are honestly sad are the ones who really don't have an opinion, but just exist here to go after everyone else for their opinions, to make themselves feel better about themselves.
Its one thing to get into disagreements, even heated ones. That's part of the fun of sports. But when you got people here who only want to make someone else's life miserable on a board, just so they can send virtual high fives to their fellow low life haters - that's different. Unfortunately, @Rush doesn't see or acknowledge the difference, which is why this place is widely regarded as the shithole of the Bears online communities.

I've proven its not hard to make that change. Dejo is a cool dude and something like that wouldn't have stopped him.
Beyond that, yeah, ignore is nice, but when you got trolls flooding the board with bullshit, at times you have it where thanks to the trolls and said ignore list, you got 4 threads on the front page.
Look, don't get salty just because I said nvan was the only one who actually tried to set some rules here (and the forum was better for it while he was able to keep up). He doesn't even personally give a shit about me (hates me actually) but I respect what he tried to do.
Anyway, Rush's whole thing in his own words was he wanted this place to be like a neighborhood tavern; what he fucked up on is that even taverns sometimes throw the obnoxious drunks who keep harrassing the other customers out, because they know keeping them there means less people coming to the establishment overall.
The last time Rush was around these parts, we had a back and forth, and honestly, as you hinted at, he doesn't give a shit about this place - its just a paycheck to him from the advertising....

It's not even so much a lack of interest in this place as the waning interest in the ever so sad state of Chicago sports....which is literally the inception of this site.
I know for a fact we have lost good posters simply because they gave up on the Bears enough to have nothing left to post about.
