I think there's only so far they can dig underground. Anyone know how far before they hit the water?
I think this whole plan was looking at the water lines from what I remember.

Sure they can, buy them out and re-build for those residents on the old site. Then they can brag about sleeping on the old HP etc.
Hmm...the South side...that would piss off WS fans. Sorry if I came across rudely with the construction comment. I spent over a decade with my nose in blueprints. Too bad the Cubs didn't wind up w/Cuban...he's about the only owner left with deep enough pockets to do it on his own.

The only way to do it is jointly with private investors, perhaps a large retailer such as a Macy's etc. That was the original architectural rendering anyways. The new Marlin stadium is already a disaster, they used credit for bonds to finance a deal that will kill taxpayers for years. Chicago cannot afford it, and the Mayor wouldn't allow it anyways. And there's no reason to renovate it(not cost effective over the long haul), spend the extra $$ on a new foundation and build it across the street...then use the bricks etc.
lol its not like they can just start building across the street. people fucking live there.
ricketts is too cheap to buy people out.
They can't just tear down Wrigley. The state would never allow that. And why would you want to just tear down history? Even if you did, you can't. So STFU.

Thank you!
They'd have to redo the support beams and maybe fix up the grandstand so those obstructed views will go away. Again, if they're stuck on that same plot of land surrounded by Clark, Addison, Sheffield, and Waveland, they won't be able to expand the footprint much more than it currently sits on. There would be a lot of restrictions on the site.
Might have to play a few games in Puerto Rico like the Expos did back in the day, if no other MLB team will want to share during a renovation/rebuild
If cubs play in puerto rico....I wont watch till they come back ful tme to chicago
Plus why are we worrying about this now..renovation wont happen for probably another 5-10 years anyways. So much has to happen first before the renovating/new stadium building can begin...

I like that idea because of no obstructed views and he also has the replay board on a rooftop. If Ricketts did that it'd be pretty cool.
Although he could just remove that stupid Toyota sign and replace it with the Jumbotron presented by Toyota and United (since it would block the United rooftop)
**** No...Wrigley does not need a fucking jumbotron...the old fashioned scoreboard is just fine
