You, sir, are a moron.
And you're a Packer fan living in the middle of the shittiest county in the entire state.
You, sir, are a moron.
I get into a car with the inherent knowledge that I could die in a car crash, doesn't mean I ***** when the state requires that I wear my seat belt.**** most of you, you play football with the inherent knowledge that you might be injured. That's how the game was played for almost a century.

Lost in all of this is this idea that you don't need to actually watch football. Read a book....spend some time with loved ones....volunteer....take up a new hobby.
If you think the NFL, or any other sport, has changed and you don't like it anymore do something else than espouse your views on an internet message board.
At least we are being mature about things....**** you, I have very few postings here...

Mmhmm, wear your packer jersey proudly to school in the AM.
The NFL is counting on you.
Spoken like a true advocate for the advancement of said leagues.
I'm well aware of DD,
Don't sit here and tell me that the bullshit rules have improved the game. Players are running it out from the endzone on KO's..has done nothing to improve the "safety" of a game that is inherently designed for un-safety. So, if you want to baby-sit all the 20-somethings here to promote the future of the NFL..well. feel free to move to France.
I don't think you're taking into account how much bigger, faster, and stronger players are these days. The difference in just 25 years is astounding.
I'd bet the majority of NFL teams these days would maul just about any team from the 80s based on the their speed, size, and strength alone. The game now is incredibly more violent than it was in the past.
Might I suggest that past players would do very well in today's NFL?...or am I simply reminiscing about guys who would take your head off and pay fines regardless?.
NFL Videos: Top Ten Pass Rushers: David 'Deacon' Jones
Look, I'm not spending time arguing what was, and will what will never be again.
So, write your articles...and enjoy the leftovers.
Those rules are keeping the games best players on the field more often so, yes, they are improving the game.
Give me a specific example of a rule that the NFL has instituted in the last decade and tell me how it made the game worse.
If can't handle a head blow, don't play the game.
You pick, arguably, the best pass rusher of all time to support your argument that players from the past would do very well in today's league? Yeah, Deacon Jones would be great right now. Walter Payton would be great right now. That's why those guys are in the Hall of Fame.
But I was arguing that TEAMS from anytime before 1990 wouldn't have much success in the NFL today because, overall, the teams today would be too much for them to handle.
LOL, the NFL is trying to make sure you don't have to handle 7-8 blows to the head.If can't handle a head blow, don't play the game.
The game has changed mostly because of money. Whether or not the game is better or worse is all based on people's opinion and which era they grew up in. Can't fault younger people for being exposed to something they aren't in control of, the networks are the ones who put more of a premium on offensive play than defensive play. They're the ones who shove the 50 yard touchdown passing play highlights down our throats. If you're looking for someone to blame, blame them. My opinion is...I don't care as long as my team wins.
By the way, look at what college football teams are doing by leaving their conferences to go to different ones to create "super conferences". Its all about the $$$ guys, for those of you haven't accepted it yet, the sooner you do the better off you'll be.
EDIT: and it's all about TV ratings too...
