How so? We have Gibson to plug into Boozer's spot. He proved last year that he's more than capable as starter during Boozer's absence. Besides, his offensive game is still growing and his defensive presence next to Noah would be stifling.
Ginobili had the third highest PER among shooting guards last year. We don't need him to play 40 minutes a night to help out our team. On top of that, he's got tons of playoff experience. That's another thing that Boozer proved -- he absolutely wilts under pressure.
Obviously, it'd suck to lose Asik, but I think Splitter has similar potential, albeit not as much defensively. Splitter put up solid numbers in the Euroleague, as well as his limited time playing last year.
If you ask me, a starting lineup of Rose, Ginobili, Deng, Gibson and Noah would be fantastic.
