As someone who was ready to buy both NCAA '13 and Madden '13 on day 1 and will no longer be doing so. I think this sums Madden '13 up nicely:

No full customization of rosters.
No Editing of players in CCM
No Import Draft Classes
No 32 team control
No Fantasy Draft
No offline co-op play
No custom playbooks
No playing games except those of the ONE team you select for CCM

looks like i'll be saving $60 dollars

Gonna be a fun game, fellas.

The triple option in the Carolina book is fire, per some of my sources.

The Walsh and Lombardi playbooks are absolutely beautiful.
Wish they could have had some classic defensive books too. The Buddy Ryan '85 Bears (46 based) playbook would have been a great example.

I actually was sponsored by Prima (the company that writes the guides) to play in the New York City Madden Challenge. They covered all my expenses. I went up there with the two guys who write the guide, Stephen Gibbons and Zach Farley....great time. We all placed top 64 outta nearly 600...and each pocketed about 2 grand.

I think the EA-NFL re-extended contract ends after 2012... not sure, and those nimrods will likely re-up because since the NFL hates competition it'll blindly deny their market product to have any... I did hear that 2k sports was trying to talk about the NFL to getting into making game for 2k13

EA Sports Madden NFL 13 Launch Tickets - 1iota

For those in the Chicago area the opportunity has arisen to this week attend promotional events being filmed to air later this summer for Madden NFL 13. This is the first time the events – which began in 2009 and are infused with NFL legends and celebrities supporting the upcoming Madden – have been held in Chicago. In previous years it has taken place in New York City and Malibu. Fans who are there will also be eligible to win a copy of the game.

NFL Legends Skills Challenge – Thursday June 21 at 6pm
Features names like Brett Favre, Barry Sanders, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, and Jerry Rice.

Pigskin Pro-Am Celebrity Flag Football Game – Friday June 22 at Noon
Features many of the NFL legends from the Skills Challenge along with Ne-Yo, Terry Crews, and unannounced celebs. Lance Briggs and Matt Forte are the coaches.

Further details can be found and tickets obtained for the Skills Challenge and Flag Football Game – as well as applications to be one of the 50 “Game Changers” which carries with it more involvement – at this website.

Coming out of the Madden NFL 13 Pro-Am held late last week EA Sports has revealed some of the ratings for Barry Sanders, Michael Irvin, and Deion Sanders. The three are amongst the crop of legends included in the game for use in various modes.

These ratings appear to come from their representations on the “Canton Greats” team and possibly their matured cards in Madden Ultimate Team. However they will instead be starting with ratings that reflect their skills and expectations when they entered the league as rookies (most will fall in the low 80s overall) when chosen within Connected Careers mode.

Team/Player overall ratings don't mean anything.

The Raiders were the best team in Madden from 2009-2011.

Last year, the Bengals were a top 3 team in Madden. The Patriots weren't good at all. The Bengals were the best defense in the game.

Two things matter in Madden, and will always matter in Madden:
1. Height
2. Speed

Case in point...possibly the best defensive player in Madden 12 was Dohntay Moch, a 91 speed OLB with 97 acceleration and 91 hit power. Put him at defensive end in a 4-3, 4-6, 4-2-5 defense in the game, and he was a nightmare to block....regardless of his like 50 OVR rating.

I heard that Madden is doing what NCAA did this year: Make height not nearly as valuable. NCAA is awesome because LBers aren't like spider-man, picking off every other pass up the middle. I hope they changed this in Madden.
