My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Indiana Hoosiers
  2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Starters on D:

Not old - Roquan Nichols Mack Fuller Jaylon J Vildor Shelley EJax Goldman Gipson Urban Rookie SS
Old - Hicks Quinn Trevathan

How is this D old in 2021? Even Quinn is not so old.....did you also notice how Justin Houston had a great year with the Colts? Tons of DL play well until they are 37 or so,,,,,,and none of our players are that old

The Colts are the 10th youngest team
The Bears are the 2nd oldest.
Obviously you can still play good as you get older but it means you need an offense that can use the clock and give you rest
Our offense sucks
did you notice not 1 aged veteran defensive player had a great year on the Bears
The defense will be basically 1 year older. They showed their age as well.
Hick and Quinn will be on your team unless a miracle happens and Hicks played well.

I don’t know about anybody else but I love the idea of bringing Wentz in to compete with Foles, the guy who’s status among the Philly fan base literally broke Wentz mentally. Sounds like a recipe for success.
You don’t bring in Wentz and his contract to possibly be a backup.
You are paying him 25 mil minimum if he is on your team next year

Dalton isn't better than foles, and foles is already under contract.

It would be a pointless move.

Pace/Nagy are looking to hit home runs so they can save their jobs, not grab trash QB's from the dumpster
Gotcha...so what is the likely home run? That's what we're trying to figure out.

Glad we have fans so committed to tanking that they are considering Wentz. Tanking is our best option

Seriously? It's not that I disagree with you but with Nagy and Pace hanging onto their jobs by a thread, there is no way in hell that's gonna happen.

Unless it happens unintentionally......which is quite possible.

Trade will be the only way Pace can get a QB that will immediately make the team better specifically for the 2021 season.

It’s gotta be all-in for Pace this coming year, and drafting a rookie QB, even if he shows signs of being good, maybe doesn’t save Pace (although who knows, I suppose).

Trading for a known commodity, or signing Dak Prescott, is probably Pace’s least difficult path to saving his job, although the way remains narrow.

Very harsh on Roquan.

He should have been All-Pro.

Regarding the age, I have seen this mentioned a few times about us being an old team but I can’t really think of any starters who would qualify as old (ie getting towards slowing down age and looking to retire) apart from Hicks and Trevathan who are 31 and 30. I wouldn’t really count Graham who is a short term fill in as a red zone target.

Also I can see Hicks playing to 34/35, whilst Trevathan needs replacing regardless of age. I don’t think age is a massive issue with this group of players, it just lacks quality in some key areas and needs better coaching.

Haha hey no worries, I said Wentz was a FA but he isn’t! I keep meaning to say potentially available but even that is questionable now with Pederson going.

we had less draft picks than most teams because of the Mack trade so that makes sense but that should even out soon here once we got 6/7 rookies in this year ..... I really don't see this team as old....if anything on D, this teamhas a core that will be around 3-4 years more if they can extend Hicks and Fuller .... who are both not old either as both are around 30 .... Only RBs careers die fast past 30 .... for the D players they go until 35 + all the time .... even MLBs that get hit or blocked on every play last until 35 + all the time (see Ray Lewis; Urlacher etc) ... Kuechly and the NIners MLB (forget his name) were exceptions but both had concussion issues

Not so potentially available either. His gargantuan contract and dead cap make it extremely difficult to move him out. He'd have to be willing to renegotiate and even then Eagles will end up with the highest dead cap ever for one player.

I did not say getting Wentz is a good idea....simply speculating it is an option that I could see Pace/Nagy going down the path with .... more realistic than trading for Watson or going up to the top 3 picks in the draft

Why - because he can run? I did not see him win many games or do anything special....

Because he hasn't failed in chicago yet.

Bears fans love other teams backups and scrubs. It's been a thing for decades now.

Hurts is not good. He might be one day, doubtful, but he's shown me nothing he can be a good NFL qb. He had one good game. That last game where he threw for 70 yards was pathetic.

Have u studied his background going back to college? Right now he's just a rookie...but he has strong leadership ability.
And the vets have gravitated toward him and his leadership. I can't remember when we've had a leader at the Qb position.
