He is a defensive coordinator, Not a head coach. Everyone is not meant 2 be a HEAD COACH. Took him 20 years to get this position. U can't see those Red Flags. He is the Reverse Mark Trestman!!

Actually I think he is more of a Lovie Smith than a Marc Trestman. Got the most out of his players and was great at defense but terrible with offense.

They kill me. So because another team see's how a coach uses a player in their system and they go out and OVER PAY THAT PLAYER 2 be on their team that is qualification 2 be a good coach. In your own post u made my point. Your word's "I would like to see a new coach also, but only because I think it's time to move on. Not because Thibs is all of the sudden some horrible coach". Why Would u just want 2 move on if he is a good coach. No one tell's a WINNING COACH ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON.

Because this is not working. Apparently he does not get along with the front office. Sometimes a fresh start is needed, doesn't mean he is bad at his job.

i GUESS WE WON'T KNOW BECAUSE WE HAD THAT CLOWN. THE OPPORTUNITY WAS NOW. YOUR GUY BLEW IT!! I KNOW THE TRUTH HURT'S. I ROOTED 4 HIM ALSO WHEN HE GOT HERE. U GOTTA OPEN YOUR EYE'S AND QUIT SEEING THE PARTS THAT U ONLY WANT 2 SEE. An entire season and as a coach u can't get Mirotic 2 stop pump faking on WIDE OPEN THREE'S. REALLY!! i would have ran all of those bad habit's out of him at practice!! i bet if he was coached by Greg Pop he would'not pass up shot's when the ball is swinged to him. Hell just any real old school coaches.

zero on the bench one unless you think him letting a few 5 foot point guards run ramped and do as they pleased is turning a scrub bench into a good one

first 2 years he had a excellent bench then it got torn apart and the weaker benches came and thibs relied way too much on starters...so he didn't turn terrible benches into good ones...he actually refused to use them

I think those benches were also good because they played good defense and smart basketball. of course you are right to, as it didn't hurt having Taj and kyle Korver on the bench.

I lost track of Asik. How has he been since leaving the Bulls?

Asik is what his skill set was here. He rebound's and blocks shot's. Stone hand's and a 7'1 frame. different talent playing next 2 an beast of a powerfoward in Anthony Davis.

I think we agree to a point. I would like a new coach also. I just don't see Thibs as being a clown as you put it. Maybe you are right maybe in time I will see the light, but as of right now I don't see it.

I definitely used to get frustrated as hell when he would leave players in during blowouts and not play rookies enough. He is stubborn as hell that's for sure.

Davis is a beast. He will be one of the best playing, if he is not already.

After the big player meeting tony Snell start's playing well for a nice stretch. As soon as teacher's pet Kirk Hinrich come back off of injury u bench Snell. And I like Kirk. But at that time Snell was playing good ball. Snell is a young guy who already had confidence issues earlier. U have to keep them engaged in the team. Not night's of not knowing when they gonna get some playing time. i felt bad 4 McDemment also, because i knew Thibb's was gonna pull that "i don't trust card with him".

Actually they don't have love they did have an injured Irving and a mediocre LeBron yet the rest stood up ...that's coaching for you.Blatt is one of Europe's top coaches and here everyone measure him by the stupid time out blackout he endured. Thibs has no basketball smarts he is a robot belong to the army. No flexibility no creativity just runs player's to the ground. Pathetic.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
Thank's Probie2429, I still would personally take Collin's. His HEALTH and AGE may be a factor now. As well as would he even have an interest in the madness that is Chicago.
Management and player's alike. this team could be a easy fix in the hand's of competent people. But i will'not hold my breathe.
You know it is Collins right, not Collin possessing something.

That's debatable in the 2nd three-peat. Beyond the 95-96 Magic, whom Jordan swept, there was never really a team that good in the East.

The Knicks were not at the greatest by that time, the Pacers in 97-98 are pretty comparable to today's teams. And the Alonzo Mourning/Tim Hardaway Heat teams never accomplished anything. The league is much like it is today.. the west beat each other up while the East had 1-2 dominant teams.

I'd even say in 1993, there's only 1 formible opponent for the Bulls in the East in the New York Knicks. The Cavs were the 3 seed and were nothing to write home about really then. The Celtics were the 4th seed, Bird had retired and were otherwise pretty dead in the water.

I use to think that too, until I really looked into it about a year ago.

The WC back in the early to mid 90's was a meat grinder much like today. The EC back then(especially during the first three peat) was tougher than today's shit-dick EC but the WC was still better. The second three peat EC I'd say was better than today's EC as well. The East was stilltop heavy but it was top heavy IMO to about the 4-5 seed on a yearly basis and some seasons you had Hardaway/Mourning Heat teams at the 8 seed. This EC is top heavy in about 1-3 seeds and the bottom half is just fucking atrocious.

i wish Kerr was available. A former Bull that allows his team to play, but also seems to coach and teach. They run their offense more under Kerr and he immediately benched 2 player's that made more money and were former all-star's(David Lee & Andre Iguadala) for what he thought was BEST FOR THEIR TEAM. No entitlement 2 a player because of his name but reward them 4 their game.

I don't usually think a coach is a problem unless he's just incompetent, like Tim Floyd. But I think Thibs had shown everything he's got and it's not enough. He was a long long time defensive assistant and no doubt deserved a shot at being a head coach. He got very lucky to get his first shot with a playoff caliber team with a superstar. The Bulls have played great defense under Thibs but the hallmark of his Bulls teams are those long stretches when they just can't score the basketball. And it's almost never against the strongest defensive teams, it's almost always on the Bulls and it doesn't seem to matter who is healthy and on the roster. And that would be my problem with him.

It may well be that Thibs goes somewhere else and wins it all or it could be that he's a GREAT defensive assistant coach but when it comes to being an NBA head coach, he's not up to it. You can't tell for sure at this point but after 5 years I don't think he's going to alter his approach or suddenly discover a way to adjust the offense when things go south at any point in the game.

I'm not going to fire him because there are teams at the 5-8 level of the playoffs with GMs that think they have the pieces to get to the finals but need a coach who can deliver. Let them give up a 1st round pick or trade up but get something in return and move on to someone else.

I've warmed up to the guy more and more. I just hope he brings some of that Golden State defense with him as well as the offense if the Bulls did go in that direction. The best we have to go off of is that 2009-10 Phoenix team that was pretty much on its last legs.. 1st in O but 23rd in D.. usually not going to cut it as far as going all the way.

But otherwise his teams have not been very good, but usually I'd say thats talent related.

If the Pelicans make a play for him we are screwed, but I've liked Gentry for a long time. He's spent some time recently under Rivers in LA and now on a VERY good GS staff
