Edited my post. meant the Pelicans. Was getting that confused with a Zach Lowe column where he was pushing Gentry to the Thunder.

Currently, the Pelicans seem more interested in Thibs, at least thats what initial media reports say. The Magic also seem interested in Thibs.

My other fear is that Ron Adams may persuade Gentry not to go to Chicago because of the front office.

I don't think he does, which is why the Bulls will attempt to trade him by all means possible. If they can't, that's where things become very interesting.

We may very well be in for another season of Thibs if they can't trade him. But imo the Pelicans would be willing to trade for him. They're already a playoff team in the West so their 1st rounder is only a mid-late 1st anyway. I can see them giving up a 1st for Thibs.

Well the problem is they don't have a 1st this year and thus by rule cannot trade their 1st next season unless they acquired another 1st somewhere else.

The general consensus from the board seems to be that Thibs is not a great coach.

If that is the case then the rest of the league should be well aware of his faults.

Based on that what do you guys think is the most we can realistically get for him if we could pull off a trade?

Thibs is Doug Collins 2.0...a good coach to bring in for a few years to whip your young roster into shape then you fire him and bring in the real coach
