I'm a big fan of tough guys and players who will play "old time hockey". John Scott is a great fighter and can really put guys out.



That being said, how many guys in the league are actually weight "eligible" to fight him? 5-6 maybe? Obviously when he is in the lineup, it's not making any difference as guys are still running Toews, Kane and Hossa.



He skates poorly, he can't handle a puck, but he can throw his weight around and fight. Great! Too bad the AHL is filled with guys though who can also skate average, hold onto a puck and are willing to check and fight.



Stu, you keep talking about how he is making the league minimum. Again, there is about 100+ guys in the AHL who could do the same thing but better for that wage.



Is John Scott going to win us games? No. Is he going to keep the other teams heavy weights at bay? Sometimes. Would I rather see somebody with a bit more of an all around game take his place on the 4th line? Yes.
