Montgomery can't do anything without good blocking. He's a RB who doesn't have any sort of top end speed. Mooney is a better offensive player than Montgomery lol. Such a meatball take smh.
Give him a break. He played ball back in the early 1900s when RBs were the most important player on offense.

Bears cannot afford to not have Robinson.

There is no one on the team that can be a guaranteed number 1 receiver. Robinson is not a top ten number one in the league, but he is the closest thing the Bears have to a number one.

Miller and Mooney are not there.

This in a nutshell and the Bears dont have any players in the top 10 on offensive skill positions .

Whats getting overlooked is how important Cohen was to the offense . Arob averages <100 touches per season for us while Cohen generally is in the >170 in touches while the featured RB(Howard and now Monty) gets 270 or more .

We need Arob but we also need our flex back just as bad and its far more important that we never have to rely on Corradelle on offense again .

His value to us goes down the higher his price goes

^ nice to see the thread return to AR talk again.

I expect a tag for him & at worst, he plays on it this year, then they offer him his deal once the cap goes up again post Covid revenue drop.

AR will NOT sit the season out if tagged. He's quoted many times talking about HOF aspirations AND is a few thousand yards shy of franchise WR record for CHI! These things mean a lot to him. He also knows it's a bad year to seek the big bucks. At worst he asks for/demands a trade, but he's NOT sitting out a year. No way. Pace prob. playing hardball on that til he figures out the QB dumpster fire.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Not even close. The profit each NFL franchise brings in pales in comparison to player payroll. The Packers are the only team that actually has numbers we can look at because their silly public ownership farce, but they are generally top ten in revenue. About ten percent of revenue turns into profit while more than half goes to player payroll alone. Its not even close who is taking in more money. Ten NFL team's profits combined barely amount to one NFL team's player payroll in a given season.
Individual players vs individual owners and you are completely discounting team equity. Franchise values and net worth increase every year. Excluding last year which was an outlier. The Bears have more than doubled in value over the previous5 years. From $1.7B to $3.5B.

Yep. Love Montgomery but another RB, that has north-south speed, is needed. Would rather have a committee approach at that position as well
