People think having a game manager wins games. That's the QB Bears fans want.
The meatball days of the defense leading the way are really done. Yes, the d needs a lot of help. But with the right moves, even with a QB drafted in round 1, you can still get the defense to a point where it would be in the middle of the pack in 1 year when you also factor in free agency. Its over-reacting to me to act like drafting a QB in round 1 means the defense is going to be forgotten. At the end of the day, a QB is more important than a DT or LB or CB, and you can find players good enough, which is all you really need, in free agency and rounds 2-7.
Umm okThe majority of the negative surrounding him I see are from this board. I have even seen positive reports coming from people who had previously always bashed Cutler.

We finally give Cutler weapons, and a offensive mind and everyone starts turning his back on him. It takes about 2-3 years to learn this offense.
Cutler has had to deal with Mike Martz, Tice, midget wr's, JWebb, and whole bunch of issues that have affected his stats.
I hear what your saying about the way Emery and Trestman have backed Jay, but, I can see them going away from Jay. Theres just to much negative surrounding him to ignore other options. This next month or whatever with Jay not playing with shape that decision imo.
The bears need more help on defense then a first round QB. Period!
This bullshit needs to stop.
And it is bullshit.
McCown had the same amount of time in this offense and has taken far fewer snaps in it, yet runs this offense better than Cutler.
Not expecting Jay to have it 100% down, but there has been ZERO signs of him running it as efficiently as McCown.
They don't give a shit about fan reaction. If the locker room is behind Jay and they like him and ownership likes him, then he'll be back.
I just hope Trestman's words after the Lions game don't end up prophetically summing up his Bears Head Coaching career: "Maybe I stuck with Jay too long."
Umm ok
I don't think Emery or Trestman give two shits about how the lockeroom feel about Jay. Not being rude to you, I just disagree about that.
A first round defensive guy isn't going to be a magic pill that fixes the defense.

Lol, ur so full of shit. A lot of you doubters seen this, but it has never been brought up. You didn't see shit..What you highlighted in red is what a lot of us doubters have seen. I won't go as far to say Jays stats have been inflated against prevent defenses or whatever other shit people say, but he hasn't played as well as most here make it out to be, imo.
What negativity were you talking about?
I think it factors in the decision to some degree for both. Not what carries the most weight, but not lost on them either.
