This might be a ridiculously deep QB class

I've started watching film on this year's QB class in preparation for doing a Bort Report part 2.

I wasn't going to post about it until I was finished, but with all the QB trade rumors whirling, I just wanted to say that this QB class looks DEEP. So far Mac Jones and Kyle Trask look really, really, really good for guys that are supposed to be the 5th and 6th QBs taken (Kizer and Webb were the 4th and 5th QBs taken in 2017 and it's not even close, Jones and Trask look so much better on film).

Could be like 5 or 6 starters from this class.

Lawrence and Fields will be good, Wilson has a chance, I expect the others to be out of the league before 2030

Been watching Mond down here for years. He's a mental case. A Kaepernick shitstorm in training.

I think Mac Jones is gonna be good. Would be happy with him and an upgrade at both tackle positions.

Small sample size, but Jones honestly looks just as good as Lawrence so far. Lawrence has the stronger arm, but Jones looks like he throws a better more accurate deep ball.

Jones is protected by arguably the best talent on an o-line since the mid 90s huskers. And he isnt mobile.

Trask is limited with his arm strength. Fields cant read defenses to save his life, and imo Lawrence has a whole awakening coming for him going to Jacksonville running a college spread offense most expect Urban to run.

Rating the qbs Id put Wilson ahead of Lawrence. I think years from now this qb class will not look as good as its been presented.

Imagine the haul Urban could get for the number 1 pick. And hes crazy enough to do it.

Total disagree on Jones. He has good feet. That's one of the things I like about him. He doesn't have that top end speed, but he's quick and nimble and moves well in the pocket.

I agree that Trask has limited arm strength, but he's not a noodle arm, and his accuracy is outstanding. Also, Trask is less mobile than Jones. They may have similar sprint speed, but Jones is quicker and more agile.

I agree that Fields tends to be one read and then tuck and run. He might be the one I end up souring on.

Lawrence has an unusual combination of size, athleticism, arm strength, and accuracy. There's a reason most people think he'll go #1 overall.

I haven't watched enough of Wilson to have any opinion yet.

Might be the best of the rest after Trask but still a day 3 guy. Hard to know what Newman offers.

They rarely look as good as reported once drafted but what to do? Blow off a possible franchise QB? Drafting QBs is about risk/reward and potential.

I think Jones is a bit better at seeing the field as well. Probably best in class. Fields is a difficult read on how he'll translate.

Lawrence and Lance will be future HOFers out of this class. Everyone else will be an afterthought in a few years. Stay away from Jones. Way too much talent around him at Bama to make any kind of rational evaluation.
