They supposedly have a 10 year waiting list so I doubt they will call me.

Honestly, if I lived closer to Chicago I would probably be right there too.

So, I got the same line as my buddy, and the others thus far.

"Mr. Dante, you realize that the waiting list for tickets is an estimated 10 years."

"I did not know that. It could be 50 years for all I am concerned."

"I just wanted to let you know by asking for a refund, you would be at the bottom of the list."

"I appreciate your concern, I am just excited that I can give another potential season ticket holder their chance to have some fun with the organization."

Looks like the 10 year line is the party line. Couldnt even ACT like they cared if I kept them or not. I mean I wasnt even worthy of a good "it not you, its me" speech?

Yep, and they'll all bail out if the record ever dips below .500.

Not sure about that.

This isn't the Chicago White Sox.

I don't think you're ever going to see what happened between 1998-2008 ever again in this organization.

Then again, who knows?

If the sport wasnt hockey and one of the big three, I would be more inclined to agree.

Of course ticket folks will all share their stories of how 10k would show up. My favorite was when I got laughed at by guys at work when I bought mine: "You BOUGHT those? They GIVE them away!" But the Mob is Fickle. Everyone loves a winner.

I watched season tiks for Hawks go from "folks who bought that loved hockey and had enough income to afford them" to a Chicago status symbol. With no hockey this year, coupled with the post Cup lackluster performance post season, that status symbol loses its status.

My guess is the the majority of sth will be resellers and companies. And Herb bless those true fans who weather the storm and the 100% ticket price increases to enjoy their passion with their season tickets. But I was quite excited to ditch mine.

we also didn't think we'd have another stoppage for a long long time after the strike, yet here we are.

So my buddy cancelled his yesterday too. What was funny about it was he was forced to get a manager on the phone and my buddy mentioned that other STH were able to refund their money and such with sending the tickets back.

Mgr: "Yes, Mr. DanteFriend, we will approve your refund as soon as the tickets are returned. However, where did you hear this from?"

DanteFriend: "My friend, who also cancelled and was a holder, mentioned this information he had read from acquaintances on a Hawks focused internet forum."

Mgr: "Which one?"

DanteFriend: "indianheadnation.com"

The thought of giving up mine has really been on my mind as of late. I have been a STH through a player strike and now 3 lockouts. Add in the crazy price increases in a short period of time that the last lockout was supposed to prevent, and I begin to wonder why I still throw money at this league.

Don't worry you aren't the only one. I'm hanging by a thread here. Add Mcdonough to the equation and I'm not quite sure why I still have them.

Wonder if they're losing STHs faster than they thought and not finding as many willing replacements as they thought. I hope that's the case.

HA! My buddy mentioned that the reason for sending the tickets back is that they are selling off the seats of those who want a refund before giving said refund.

So if you give this season back in its entirety you are also giving up your ST's forever?

Do I understand that correctly?

I agree but would change the last word in your commentary to read this;
