Might as well get Peyton Manning as your quarterbacks coach, Barry sanders as your running backs coach, Tony Gonzalez as your tight ends coach, Jerry Rice as your receivers coach.......I think you get my drift

Ego? Maybe love of the game, possibly he likes teaching? Could feel it's something he would enjoy. IDK but I think he understands the game and could relate to players.

Played golf with Tony in April in a tourney here in Dallas. His golf is way too important to him. He has aspirations that will require alot of practice and tournaments. His true passion is now golf and announcing is something that comes naturally without as much effort.
