Give it a rest with all your psychoanalysis. I know what I said and I know all stuff you can say in rebuttal. So what?
It's just some people who are mostly good at not freezing to death in the dark laughing at people who haven't learned the proper methods for not freezing to death in the dark. Except for anyone getting injured or deaths because of the cold down there, all the rest is good for a laugh to people here. So what?

Chill out man, like I said I wasn't meaning to attack you.... it just brought the topic up.

As for the freezing to death lol I think thats a bit dramatic.... lots of people in Chicago are bitching but none I know of actually died because of it.

Don't care if they are having a laugh, it just brought that logic people often use to my mind so I posted about it.

Like I said I was making fun of the same people, many of them my own family. :D

I'm actually kind of pissed by all the rain...it would have been an epic snow storm if it were cold enough. Not that I'm yearning for the weather of earlier in the week or anything, I just like snow.

OK it's all good. As far as deaths they are reporting some although I don't see how a traffic death counts. Hypothermia does.

"Authorities have blamed at least 16 deaths on the cold so far, including 11 from traffic accidents and three involving hypothermia. A spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office in Illinois said Tuesday that one person had died as a result of the extreme cold."

I live in the country suburbs and have nothing holding me back. I want to move down to Nashville,Tennessee so bad. They have a really great Bears bar, too. So it'd be fine with me.

I hate Chicago winters.

I'll wager that out of the 9 who voted yes, at least 7 have never resided anywhere else and the other 2 are from either NY or LA.

I have never resided elsewhere. As I stated previously in this thread the only place in the country I would consider is the Pacific Northwest.

My cousin moved there over a decade ago(20 miles NE of Portland), was living in DuPage prior.

She'll never come back, good food, fine arts, less people, lower taxes etc.

What lies 1 mile east of you is a microcosm of why the state is in the red, Rte. 20 under construction yet abandoned for 2 years.

Not abandoned Sunbiz.... thats just how road construction is done in Illinois.... **** some shit up, do some half assed work, leave it to freeze over for a winter or 2 and when you get back to it, there is a boat load more work/money there for you.

I had a conversation just yesterday with an LA native going to college not too far from that on-going road construction.

His only complaint about the area(other than the shitty weather of course)were the lack of lanes on highways and other roads. This is a complaint I have had since the 80's. The entire metro area was configured and built back in the 50's and 60's, yet NO proper planning was ever done to account for population growth.

If it had, the Eisenhower would have been done decades ago as it should have.

However, our LA transplant said the traffic is much worse out there...despite double the amount of lanes.
