Napoleon Dynamite was fucking awful. About as bad as other popular films like American Psycho, Boondock Saints, A Clockwork Orange and Eraserhead.

How the hell do people think Napoleon Dynamite is a good movie?

Yeah I thought Napoleon Dynamite was pretty bad. I never even finished watching it.

I thought it was awful with a few funny parts the first time I watched it. The second time I watched it I found a lot more funny parts

Napoleon Dynamite was fucking awful. About as bad as other popular films like American Psycho, Boondock Saints, A Clockwork Orange and Eraserhead.

That actually explains the opposite.

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME EVERYONE DOESN'T SHARE THE EXACT SAME SENSE OF HUMOR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

I hated this movie. Someone told me "Do you realize that the movie is based on the Tales of Ulysses? John Goodman is the cyclops" My response was "Do you realize this movie still sucks?"

I know a lot of ppl that don't like it a whole lot. I was entertained throughout.

Rocky IV? Really? The one where all of Russia turns and instantly goes from hating America to loving it? I think I know who you are in real life X. :)

Balboa ended the Cold War, how could this not be in someone's top 10

I didn't like the music at all. Too folksy for me. I guess if you liked the music aspect, you'd probably like the movie.

lol, agreed. "twang" rockabilly music isn't on my ipod, but growing up in kentucky, I guess I have some level of respect for it

How does a movie's popularity somehow devalue it's cultural relevance? That's like saying the Beatles or Stones suck because a lot of people like them. I agree that Boondock Saints is trash, ditto for Eraserhead. A Clockwork Orange isn't one of my favorite movies, but it was certainly one of the most important pre-New Hollywood movies I've ever watched. And American Psycho was just flat-out a good movie. The connection that film makes with the increasing narcissism that was drowning America in the 1980s and the whole yuppie boom of urban America is extremely revealing and shocking. If it's a guilty pleasure, so be it. But the movie was fantastic. Excellent cinematography and it was also Christian Bale's first superstar performance -- he was awesome in the movie.

These are too tough to rank in any type of order:

- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
- Lord of the Rings, Return of the King
- Shawshank
- Miller's Crossing-underrated Cohen Bros. film, the Irish version of Goodfellas.
- Remember the Titans
- American Gangster
- Heat
- Full Metal Jacket
- Jaws
- Papillon-Filmed in both Spain and Jamaica, another underrated film. If you liked Shawshank, you'll enjoy this one:

I never said a film's popularity makes it bad in anyway, simply that those are movies that share the same trait of sucking and being popular and I don't understand how they're good. If you take a look at my list that I posted earlier it consisted of: Psycho, Taxi Driver, Annie Hall, Evil Dead 2, The Shining. Those are all fairly popular films, so to say that I simply equate popularity with a film being bad is wrong. As far as American Psycho is concerned it just fails at what it attempts to do and that's be funny. I don't see how it's really revealing or shocking, that's like learning from Super Size Me that McDonald's is bad for you.

I don't think there were any attempts to be funny in that movie -- just ironic. Differing opinions, I guess.
