yeah, there is no way there can be 30 guys under that age criteria that one would take over kane.

But if age doesnt matter, I gotta lot of guys ahead of kane.

I completely admit it, I didn't see the age criteria.

I still wouldn't touch Kane with a 10 foot pole to build a team around. I want my team to play defense, forecheck and hit. Kane can't do any of those things.

But you are right, 30 is to high of a number, if the age criteria is in effect.

kane is a one trick pony. How many games do you go to a year....? just curious. I was wondering if you see the same things I do when I am at the game when it comes to kane. See, people complain that he isnt a 2 way type player, but thats not the problem.

Then, by all means, name the other 30 you have ahead of Patrick Kane WHO ARE UNDER 23 YEARS OF AGE.

Please, please, please, show me that list.

Don't go down this road.

I had him list wingers that, all things considered, he would rather have under contract than Kane (the argument was that Kane was wildly overpaid and shitty). Iginla and Marty St Louis were prominent on the list

:yeah:

I'll admit that I don't like Kane, but I don't dislike him that much. That's a little too far. There are things he does good, and things he doesn't. My biggest problem with Kane is the diving. I hate diving so much. That's why I don't like the Canucks, Sidney Crosby, or Kane. I respect the talent that the players have though.

Crosby doesn't dive and ***** anymore. Those are really tired complaints against him. He's grown up.

The guy is incredibly good and he's a winner. Don't lump him in with wimps like the Sedins.

Sid has had one concussion & will be good to go by training camp.

We'll see- as a concussion is not the same thing as broken bone.

Edited:

Kane doesn't forecheck? That's news to me - he actually is pretty good at that. -Now as to what forechecking isn't - is it isn't about hitting someone in the offensive zone (and backchecking isn't about hitting someone in the defensive zone either fwiw).

Forechecking is about keeping the other guy bottled up in their zone -all you have to do with that is have some agility in skating.

Watched some of the Finals series about a month ago - the kid is electric... and no, he isn't a power foward, true.

Ok, you have 5 guys to build with ... personally I would rather have 6 -then you could basically just go and pick the 1st All Star team and fill in any slots where guys are over the req'd age - probably can't go wrong that way.... avoid "all-rookie teams" -as they are more about hype and selling trading cards than about anything actually tnagible (at least in my experience collecting hockey cards).... case in point: Patrick Poulin - the next Brett Hull? (Or something like that from Score brand cards in about 1993), think others were high on Paul Ysaebart, and some guy from the Devils who wound up on the Hawks for a little while before being moved on and then disappearing. . .

As much as I love Toews, Sid is better than him.

I can not wait to see what Crosby does this year. A healthy year out of him with Neal on his line... should be good watchin.

He was insane last year. I looked it up to find the actual numbers and I'm still stunned by them...

Crosby had a 25 game point streak, which began November 5, 2010, against the Anaheim Ducks, and ended December 28, 2010 against the New York Islanders. During this streak he had 27 goals (including three hat-tricks), 24 assists, and 51 points. This streak is tied for 11th longest point streak in NHL history.

Sign me up for more of that.

Was going to start a new topic about this, but it kinda fits here:

Sidney Crosby of Pittsburgh Penguins has had post-concussion symptoms, GM says - ESPN

General manager Ray Shero said Monday the former MVP is still dealing with concussion-like symptoms and it's too soon to know if Crosby will be available when the Penguins open camp next month.

"There's no expectation from me that he won't be ready or he will be ready," Shero said.

This seems completely insane to me.

People can yell at me for this, but I think he is milking it. And by doing that he's making guys like Marc Savard who are actually severely hurt, look less important.

What do you mean and to what end?

I'm not going to yell at you, but I can calmly tell you that it makes little to no sense.

What gives you the impression that Crosby is any less injured than Savard?

Secondly, how does "milking it" benefit Crosby? An excuse for having an off year last year? Oh wait, he was ON FIRE and playing the best hockey of his life when he got hurt. I don't understand a single reason why Sid would be choosing to miss playing games in his prime.

They are only concussion symptoms. Yes they could be serious, but I like how the Pens GM is keeping him out, and letting him recover on his own. I personally think Savard was rushed back and thats what led to more concussions.

when we were discussing toews v crosby...i picked toews due to crosbys trouble with this concussion
