It;s probably an offer he can't refuse. I wish him well if he goes.

I think the Hawks cap casualties are going to end up in Florida and Atlanta. Dudley and Tallon are going to try to get their boys back in the fold. Which will be the best scenario we can cheer for some of those guys and not worry about them beating the Hawks.

Heard a juicy one while in Toronto last weekend about Huet to Florida for Vokoun depending on how sweet Scooter makes the deal for Dale. Stranger things have happened.

How would Vokoun help the cap crunch this season? He's got a caphit of 5.7 which is .1 more than Huet, the only thing is that it's his last year.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a straight up trade.

There'd probably be a $3 or $4 million dollar Hawks forward also going to for draft picks or a Panther with a lesser salary.

Not a chance. I'll bet money this doesn't happen. Huet was not Tallons goalie.

I had wondered if we would see the likes of Torch and Havi this coming season.

I seriously doubt Haviland is going anywhere. He has another year on his contract.

I hope so as well.

Was Torch's contract up at the end of the season?

It's hard to not look at Havi and crack a smile. He always has this little smirk on his face. I bet he's hilarious to hang around with.

What does being under contract have to do with anything? They make jumps from assitant to head coach all the time while still under contract. I doubt the Hawks would prevent him from talking to other teams.

Has something new changed your opinion, because I could have swore there were posts a while back saying you felt they would both probably go? Or is this just the way you've always felt?

I agree. He's in VERY tight with MacIsaac. I don't see him going anywhere before a. his contract is up, and b. he negotiates with CBH first

Good for Torchetti, he's got a lot of people to slay in the off-season yet. And hopefully someone takes over the PP who can make us unbeatable. With the talent our team has there is no reason we shouldn't be top 3 in the league. Grant it that we won it all and the 15 teams in front of us can bow before us and suck our cocks, we 16th in the league when it came to PP%, that says more about the coaching than the players who won the cup.

I guess I should have pointed out his relationships within the organization that Fanof19 did below.

No Mass I never thought Haviland would go anywhere until his contract is up. Torch how ever I thought would get a job somewhere else.

The Hawks would not prevent him Frank, rather he would not go. Just as he did NOT go to Colorado last year to be the head coach, when it was widely reported he'd been offered the job.

Maybe our PP will be decent next year?

I know it wasn't Torch's fault ultimately, it was the players and the Hawks still won the Cup. But as a fan I can never be happy... maybe a fresh face for the PP will help the guys get their heads on straight with the man advantage. At least I hope!

When Atlanta didnt hire a coach when everyone else was vying for the same names it gave away that Dudley was looking at someone STILL in the playoffs. With his background with the Blackhawks you had to figure it was one of our two assistants. I hope we keep Haviland nice and happy here so he can coach for Q when he is ready to retire.

I met him and Torch and Torch had that serious type of humor with his look. kind of like, "if you don't laugh at my joke I'm gonna kill you"...

I'll miss Tortch but he deserves the head coaching chance somewhere. Him and Dudley could do good things in Atlanta if ownership allow them to.
