I like Dudley but he doesn't have the greatest track record if I remember correctly. Didn't fair too well in Florida with the Panthers...

Aaron Cohen was controlling partner back then. Much different now that Viner is controlling partner.

My recollection is the same. But I'm ancient and thus unsure of anything I recall nowadays . . . :D

(Really, you're right.)

This is what happens when you can only do so much research at work while visiting the boards...

Correct. He was only briefly GM because he publicly said he did not want the Job. It was interim. He was definitely key in their build to the Cup. Just as he was here.

I'd say Two Cups in 8 years with two different teams, of which were pretty much garbage before he got there, speaks volumes.

Bah, that means nothing. LOL.

Seriously though, I think Atlanta is in a decent position and did help themselves with this trade. Be interesting to see what success Dudley can bring to that team.

Damnit! So the PP will continue to look like a hot fucking mess a lot of the time after all this upcoming season.

If true, that's unfortunate for Torchetti---I thought for sure he was gonna get his own ship to run after the success of this season.

Stop overreacting! We still have 82 games left to correct it!

So were the Hawks not interested in bringing Torch back or is he getting way more money to be an assistant in Atlanta?

Why would he want out of Chicago? Out from a team that just won the Cup?

Not 100%, but it was being reported by TSN and they usually don't jump the gun without verifying it first.

Comcast said this morning that some other guy was hired as head coach and that Torchetti was hired by Atlanta as an assistant.

Apparently the same reason he ended up in Chicago in the first place -- Dudley.

Still, I'm surprised he would take a lateral move to go there.
