Just passed the 96% peak in central IL at 1:20pm CST. Just got gloomy. Didn't get as dark as I expected. Meh.

I enjoyed it. It was only 66% here but I went to my Pops and we just sat outside, grilled hotdogs and passed the welding glass back and forth. Then we went to get ice cream after. I had a blast, glad I still have my Dad to enjoy stuff like this with. See you in 2024 boys.

If you were not in the path of totality you have no idea what you missed. Amazing the difference a few percent can make. Well worth the drive a few hours south. Something my daughter will never forget.

Was only 75% at best in Texas. Definitely felt cooler and wasn't as bright outside, but it's definitely not close to the effects of totality, from what I've seen. I need to see the whole shebang in 2024.

Totality was in-fucking-sane.
P.P.S. Fixed it...ID-ten-T error on my part.

Awesome shot! I didn't have anything to shoot the sun with. So here is a landscape shot. It was totally worth the drive. Very surreal. Took 4.5 hours to drive the normal 2.5 hour drive home. But I would do it again today to watch totality again.
