Do you like Childress since he played in Greece?

Not at all.We really wondered how a player as bad as him can play in NBA.Sometimes it needs only athleticism to play in NBA.In Europe basketball is more tactical. There are many guys that would easily own many asses in NBA but never cross the Atlantic because they were afraid of theur lacking athleticism.

This one would be an all star in my opinion.

Different styles though. Some good players in the NBA would struggle in Europe while some good european players struggle in the NBA.

i dont think hawes has nearly peaked...i dont think he's going to regress much...again he's only 23

noah will get better of course...but that doesnt mean there isnt an argument for hawes here

i'm not even a bulls fan honestly lol

and you cant really trade boozer and/or noah at this point..not alot of options..you're kinda stuck

they both have their glaring issues...could be worse though...also helps when you have rose as your PG

Ahh didn't see you were a Spurs fan. I like the Spurs too & am fairly impressed with their start this year. Gotta I say I kinda wrote them off once Manu got injured.

I'm guessing Richard Jefferson is the Spurs' fans equivalent of Carlos Boozer. ;)

losing manu absolutely hurt us...but still have a good core...sucks that fsn southwest always shows the god damn rockets instead of the spurs

i had jefferson on a fantasy team last year, and as big of a headache he was then, im sure as a spurs fan its even more frustrating. good to see he isnt a complete log this year

I wouldn't mind seeing Booz go, but I doubt Orlando will go for a low-ball offer like than. But if there was a trade to be made I wouldn't mind a straight-up trade of Boozer for Ryan Anderson. He's great at spreading the floor and can knock down the long shots with consistency. He could become our modern-Kukoc.

Not sure if orlando would bite but we could include Korver in the deal if orlando was willing to part with Reddick.

Your toughts on Boozer for Anderson?

True, but when Boozer's 18-footers aren't falling, what is he doing? I'm not completely down on Carlos, but this thread suggest we trade him- I would be fine with reducing our payroll and getting a player who can spread the floor for the 1st unit. Taking a big (PF) out of the paint would be huge for Rose's drive and kick efficiency.

I don't like seeing Boozer in the starting lineup when he isn't knocking down the long 2's. His confidence in his shot gets rattled too easy when someone plays solid defense on him.... And I have rarely seen him step out to the 3pt line to open up the paint for Rose.

Also, Noah is a down-and-dirty, nitty-gritty type of player in the low post but with Carlos' lack of spacing, the lane gets clogged and leaves little room for any quick drives to the basket.... If anyone remembers as well as I do, Brad Miller was a terror against the Celtics in that 7 game series because he spread the floor and knocked down his 3pt shot attepmts. This left Thibb's defense vulnerable to Rose's constant drives to the hole because Brad would draw the Celtics center out 20 feet+.

I'm fine with keeping Booz, but let him run with the second unit and force feed him the ball against other teams' second unit. Taj is a much better alternative for out 1st unit because him and Noah can shut down the low post and force teams to shoot contested shots. Plus, Taj's jumper looks solid out to 18 feet (and has been hitting the elbow jumper with consistency).

The only problem with that is putting Boozer on the second unit is the fact that that leaves a whole lot of money on the bench for many stretches throughout the game. The Bulls aren't paying him to keep the pine warm.

Umm...he's leading the team in rebounding, so, rebounding is what else he does out there. And he's been doing it ALOT better than Noah this year. Los needs to be with the 1st unit because you have to guard him on that jumper. Taj is left completely open all the time because he's not a knock down 15 foot shooter. And he hasn't been that consistent with that shot yet at all. The majority of Carlos' shots come in the 1st quarter when they try to get him going to open the lanes up for Derrick to drive.

The way the rotations are now are perfectly fine. The 1st unit has meshed well, other than Noah who's been completely out of it which is no fault but his own. The Bench Mob should stay the Bench Mob. It's that old adage: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But against teams with solid defense in the low post we settle for too many of those 15-18 ft jumpers. I don't deny that carlos rebounds well, but doesn't Taj? I'm not claiming Taj to have a better jumper but I know for a fact that Gibson's defense is better and rebounding skills are equivelent to Boozer's.

I just don't see consistent scoring from the post when Asik and Taj are in the game. Why not see how the 2nd unit fares with Boozer being force fed the ball on the block.

... Riding the pine is exactly what Boozer does in the 4th qtr anyways. The only reason Boozer starts over Taj is because of that contract. I feel more comfortable seeing Rose dominate to open the game up and let Boozer come off the bench to keep offensive production up when the second unit comes into the game.

The problem is that our offense is (partially) broken against teams with low post presence. Then our defense (the second unit) is forced to shut down teams in the 4th qtr. Don't get me wrong, I love winning and don't care how it happens. But do we really want Boozer sitting the entire second half in playoff games because Thibbs hates his defense? Hell no. Make the switch. Force feed him the rock in the second and third qtrs and let Taj start and close the game.

Good points but Boozer is out their with the starters not because of his contract but beacuse he's a more skilled player than Taj. He opens up the lane more for Rose than Taj would. He's a better scorer, equally as good a rebounder (Taj has dipped this season in that department but that's partly due to excellent team rebounding with the 2nd unit), & he's a much better passer.

I think this whole Boozer riding the pine in the 4th is getting a little overblown. Several of those games, we had good leads & there was no need to put him back out there. It wasn't because he didn't have it or his D was putting us in a hole. We all know Boozer is not a good defender, but the problem is, he looks even worse when you put him next to 3 of the best low post defenders in the league in Noah, Asik, & Taj. But it's not like he's not trying out there. He does, he's just not that good at it.

Thibs is a creature of habit so I don't see the lineup's really changing at all. The starters have good chemistry & the bench has excellent chemistry, so Thibs is not going to mess with that.

Did you see how well Boozer and Asik played together? If you don't want Booz on the bench, drop Noah to the second unit and bring Asik up to the starting lineup. Noah will provide passing from the post and Taj is always active (if they're both healthy) but I like Boozer playing with someone other than Noah. For some reason, their styles don't seem to be completely effective together. Noah is a good defender but he tends to get caught trying to set up around 15 ft. (Where boozer lives); where as, Asik stays in the circle and rarely strays from the paint. But I honestly love defense more tpo begin the game so I will always want defensive big men in the game to start. Mainly to limit the other teams production and allow Rose to fully exert himself offensively. Again, it all comes down to match-ups/rotations and I this is still an area Thibbs needs to improve on.

We have the depth, use it.

maybe ONE OF THEM...but NOT BOTH!

but the Bulls are winning so I seriously doubt any changes will be coming anytime soon...out Depth is our advantage and strength
