The Forward signings today would indicate Bowman is done trading or knows who or what if any trades would go down, because it wouldn't be coincidence he waited until he knew what he would have before signing them based on protections.

this would indicate to me the forwards are set anyway, and he knew maybe about 1 if any potential trade probably for an already contract protected player.
But probably no more forwards.

Today's signings have absolutely nothing to do with the trade deadline and doesn't indicate one thing or another. It has everything to do with having depth, players to expose, and salaries that won't cost against that salary cap if not on the NHL roster next year.

the timing of it makes me think his possibilities narrowed and he went ahead with the signatures.

No fucking way on Chara, what that there is plain a simple the easiest call to make for a GM... You tell a shill reporter that two teams are interested in a big name, teams that people are afraid are going to make a big move to bring home the cup, and force everyone else to react. It does 2 things. If you are serious about Chara you then force other teams to overpay because well... the Hawks and Kings have put together a great package. and 2.) you get to field calls to which you can listen to offers, which you can counter with your shitty players but both GMs are now listening to deals and know what's being thrown around so you get a deal anyway and don't have to give up the big name. Recycle repeat.

It would be like if Bowman started floating Seabrook out there, it's not going to happen, but there is just enough to make other GMs pick up their phone and you get to see who they have available and what they value them at.

It absolutely put TVR in open for offers today... plus it probably being agreed to that Rozi will play still allows Pokka to be trade assets offered too

TVR was gonna be the one guy exposed or more likely, the one guy to get traded so they didn't lose him for nothing.

A lot of people reporting that Oduya to Chicago is about to happen.

Edit: For McNeill and a conditional fourth. Done deal.

And retained on Oduya.

If you don't think this trade is a win, you're a loser. :p

Carolina has apparently considered trading Teuvo, well there was Duchene to Canes talk before, that would be a part of a realistic package

Wow the Wild are in panic mode. That was a steep price to pay for Hanzal and White.

Stan managed to grab an extra 7th round pick from Anaheim again in AHL deals sending Blackhawks 1 game played legend Spencer Abbot and Sam Carrick for the pick and an echl talent.

Well luckily Hino and Motte for sure get some top ice time now that 3 of the top ice hogs forwards got shipped away.

It definitely improved the depth on this team. So did the Jurco deal. Oduya will fit right in and is a good glue guy. Jurco still can improve and it is up for him to produce on his latest chance.
