So you want to be able to trade down and get Anderson or Carter? Is there a trade down point to take Stroud to have in a Fields tandem?
My point is where we got Fields, at 15. Give me that bargain again and we are two deep at QB.
The picks we gain allow us to support Fields as well as spending the #1 in Carter/Anderson.
You get a back-up QB and a plan B.
You get more support offense.
If you can get a different piece at 15 I also like the BYU QB in the third. Or TCU QB in the 4th.
That would be dropping to #4 at the most. The best haul would be to trade down to #2 and then to #4. At best, the Bears get a 2nd rounder this year and next year to move down to #2. They might get a 2nd rounder this year and a 1st and 2nd rounder next year to move down to #4.
You then want to be able to trade up to get Stroud. First, the Bears moved up to 11, not 15 to get Fields. They needed to trade their 1st rounder (#20), a 5th rounder that year and a 1st and a 4th the following year.
They could use a 2024 2nd rounders and the 35 this year to "move to #20". Then they would use the Colts 2024 1st rounder, a 5th rounder this year and a 4th rounder next year. So, a 1st rounder (2024), two 2nd rounders, a 4th rounder (2024) and a 5th rounder to get Stroud as a backup / injury replacement for Fields?
They could add more support for the offense.
They would have 2 2nd rounders left (2023 and 2024) to add to offense.
So, it does seem possible, but wouldn't it be better to add 7 extra players in 2023 and 2024 to add to the offense and defense, seeing how the cupboard is almost bare on both sides of the line?
Edit: Now all you need is for the #2 QB to drop to #11 when there are at least 8 teams up to the 11th pick who have to at least consider drafting a QB, including #11 the Titans who could use a QB too.
