Forte for a 5th sounds about right. The draft pick is nice, but the true value for the Bears is more carries for Langford and Carey. This is the time to let one of them take the reigns going forward.

I like both these guys but i don't see either as talented as Forte. That's going to be a cold reality if we trade Forte.

I like Forte, but I also believe the Bears should do him a favor and get him the heck out of this mess. He needs a chance to win a Super Bowl. He deserves the opportunity. I hope a contender is willing to trade for him.

If they could get a 5th for young I would be more than happy. He was more productive and cheaper than Allen was

I think Young's floor is about a 5th because of his contract and upside. It wouldn't surprise me to get a 4th for him, and a 3rd would obviously be a home run...but I wouldn't hold my breath. If we could get a 4th for both Forte and Young I would be on board with the strategy. Even 5ths, TBH.

If a team offers a 2nd for Marty, do you pull the trigger?

Say all this happens:

1st(1 pick. Potentially top 5, maybe #1)
2nd (2 picks)
3rd(1)
4th(3-assuming we could a 4th for Forte and Young)
5th(1)
6th(3?)
7th(do we have one?)

That's 12 potential picks, with the ability to trade down and acquire a boatload of selections. Say we had the #2, and a team with the #7 offered the pick, their 2nd, and a future 1st. I think you do it. Pace is setting up the stage nicely. He's loading up for the draft and prepared to do damage. Whether he can follow through remains to be seen, but I like the strategy. Some shrewd swindling in free agency, and the Bears could be pretty formidable next year. I expect them to play pretty well when Cutler comes back and I think the defense will improve the deeper we get into the season. Final prediction: 4-12 at worst. 6-10 at best. That's assuming Jay comes back after the Raiders game...and stays healthy.

Man I get what you are saying, but a 4th is a ceiling for Willie. We need to think of his injury situation, too.

No doubt. But I think we could get at least a 5th for him...and I would be inclined to do it. Even if Young bounces back and dominates this year or next, achilles usually resurface down the line and we would just waste his best years in all likelihood. I think it's also a reason he was held out of last game. Pace is mulling over offers and doesn't want to risk injury. Maybe this is the last game for Young but if not, I still feel he's off the team this year. Pace is showing he's not interested in anyone who doesn't fit with the scheme and the culture. Young definitely isn't an ideal scheme fit. I think Young and Forte are gone, and maybe even one more trade after that. I feel Pace is going to be ultra aggressive and won't be afraid to take a hit as far as value is concerned, if that player doesn't fit in the long term plans. Basically, he's going to get something, anything, before he lets you go for nothing. The more picks you have in the draft, the better you do. I love the strategy so far and I hope he keeps it up.

sorry, but a 5th is the ceiling and 6th likely. You are talking about a player off injury who isn't getting any playing time to prove it. Maybe if he proves it, but with Acho named starter how much will he play?

It's a fine line though, give him playing time and he gets hurt, he's pretty much worthless.

Always thought Young would fit in nicely in Seattle opposite Bennett. Carol likes trading for veterans and he has overpaid in the past (see P. Harvin). If we could get a late 3rd out of Young that'd be just swell.

Then we could replace him with Bruce Irvin in FA and the circle of life continues.

In all honesty forte is not going to get paid by us. Think he's worth a 3rd easy but we would only probably get a 4th or 5th at best.

Trade young/Ratliff
Trade anyone who has been named besides Jeffrey.

You're saying that if the shoes were a bit more light-skinned there wouldn't have been a problem?

It would have been a little better, But Goodell still wouldnt let his daughter wear the.

I don't like the idea of trading Forte. While he will be aging, he could be a center piece in our revival. Free agency and a very good draft could make us a potential playoff team. But that depends on resigning him, which is why i get that he may be traded.

Is it possible we trade him and then sign him in free agency? Lol, probably not but that would be awesome if we did!

Old RBs aren't part of revivals. We'd have maybe one transition year with him at this point in 2017 and he's going to slow down a bir every year now. He's speed trained and looks faster than last year but no longer special that way. He's not a basher so the fall off in effectiveness could come quickly. Odds are that it's a good time to move him to a versatile O and give him a shot at a ring in the next couple years. The pick will be more important to us by the time we can use it and Forte wont be here next year anyway. He'll get more money from a team that needs a RB in the near term to help them to the offseason..

It sucks to think about losing Forte, but if the thought is he won't be back it's better to get something for him than just let him walk.

NDs RB CJ Prosise is a very similar player to Forte and I would love to snag him in the draft. He's 6'1 220 with solid hands (converted WR). His top end speed is actually probably better than Forte's as well.

Langford and Prosise could be a very solid combo next season.
