Yes.....his stats are almost identical to Bruce Smith thru 4 years....

He is one of the top, if not the top pass rusher in the league....

Remember when we got Peppers? This is better.

Thanks for the quality response. I'm glad he's on the team, and I'm sure he's great, but that seems like a lot to give up. Plus, the season still hinges on Trubisky - that didn't change.

If Trubisky can turn out to be a top 15 QB this year, we will push for a playoff spot.

Man I hope he in enough shape to play Sunday.
Even if it’s like 15 - 20 snaps.

When the D reaches a certain level a QB can be reigned in to not hurt or be a game manager. I think Mack does this for the Bears, he brings this top ten D to the next level. I dont think Trubisky will be that bad and actually I think he will surprise a lot of people with his play this year( in a good way)

That's what I'm thinking. Forget expectations of .500, it's gotta be a 10 win season with a serious SB contender next year.

I was thinking we could be 7-9 or 8-8 this year....Mack can make a 2 win swing on this defense.....he is a perfect player in Fangio's d

Exactly what I was thinking earlier today. The expectations for this team have now changed. Missing the playoffs this year will be considered a failure. You don't go all in on a guy like this if you don't expect to contend NOW.

I am absolutely stunned today. My brother whos in town for a wedding woke me up today with the news and i told him to go fuck himself and went back to sleep. I then wake up to the news and couldnt be more excited. To hell with the draft picks! This guy is fast, strong and skilled and without a doubt hte best pass rusher in the game. He takes what was already a pretty good defense to an elite superbowl level defense. If he plays to his ability and Roquan is even half as good as people expect him to be this defense is going to be a serious problem come playoff time. This defense should be pretty good to start the season but once that defense really starts to gel they will be scary. If we can get some points from the offense this team will be extremely dangerous if it gets into the playoffs. Im going to be an optimist and say we win at least 10 games this season.

I don't know if you even realize what you're saying here. Contending for playoffs isn't the same thing as making the playoffs. Or do I need to remind you that you can win 10 games and still miss the playoffs?

I was preparing my soccer teams when I received a text we got Mack. I laughed and said Bullshit. Of course my wife calls and goes remeber when I called ya aboot Cutler traded to Bears; well they got some guy named Mack. I did the Lovie stare during my teams games today thinking of a the awesomeness coming the Bears way. Luckily my teams were on point, and took care of business

At the very worst it will be fun to watch!

This is a game changer... will elevate the D on every level. You have to game plan around this guy.

Dude has a 40” vertical to go with his 4.6 speed. Is both insanely strong and fast. Has elite instincts, and is all pro caliber both pass rushing, and defending the run. He can drop back and cover tight ends/slot receivers.

Doesn’t this put us up against the cap? Gonna need some $ for In season moves. Will we need to restructure someone? Or any cuts that will free up $?

Man....so the Bears get a 2nd and 5th back and the guaranteed money is done after 4 years? What a goddamn grand slam by Pace...perfect scenario for Bears with Trubs on his rookie deal and a perfect situation for Mack with Vic at DC and the surrounding pieces like Hicks/Goldman/Quan/Trev/Fuller/Amos/Jackson. A lot of people were high on RRH and I was enthused too, but his job just got a hell of a lot easier. Now just have to get it done on the field but dare I say it....for the first time in my lifetime, all the pieces are there. The 06 Bears were close but Rex was a 5 game wonder and then sunk with the cement boots.

with how the contracts are ballooning out of control the last few years at the top positions, the league is going to have to raise the cap eventually.

to think there was a point in time where 6 figures was a lot, and that probably wasn't really THAT long ago. lol
