Doesn’t this put us up against the cap? Gonna need some $ for In season moves. Will we need to restructure someone? Or any cuts that will free up $?

I can’t find a link right now, but I feel like the cap is projected to jump up by $9 - $12mil next league year.

Man....so the Bears get a 2nd and 5th back and the guaranteed money is done after 4 years? What a goddamn grand slam by Pace...perfect scenario for Bears with Trubs on his rookie deal and a perfect situation for Mack with Vic at DC and the surrounding pieces like Hicks/Goldman/Quan/Trev/Fuller/Amos/Jackson. A lot of people were high on RRH and I was enthused too, but his job just got a hell of a lot easier. Now just have to get it done on the field but dare I say it....for the first time in my lifetime, all the pieces are there. The 06 Bears were close but Rex was a 5 game wonder and then sunk with the cement boots.

And this time the bears aren’t running a cover 2 that would surely get tore up by a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady no matter how many playmakera

with how the contracts are ballooning out of control the last few years at the top positions, the league is going to have to raise the cap eventually.

to think there was a point in time where 6 figures was a lot, and that probably wasn't really THAT long ago. lol

The league's current CBA expires in 2020. I fully expect the players to negotiate a pretty big increase in the salary cap. NFL players are watching NBA and MLB players getting paid a much higher percentage of the profits and I feel they will absolutely fight for a pretty major increase. That said, after the league and players negotiate a new CBA, this contract will not look as intimidating.

That’s a total average at signing of $22.12 million (per year).

Since I know no one will care, I went ahead and did the math anyway: This man will be making a little over $18,400 per second of every NFL game, including preseason (but not including postseason). It's my dream to work in a job where, every three seconds, I could yell out: "THAT'S A CAR!" "THAT'S AN IN-GROUND SWIMMING POOL!" "THAT'S A NEW HOME THEATER!" Or, if I took a eight-minute break from yelling, I could return and announce, "THAT'S A VINEYARD IN WINE COUNTRY!"

(I know it's not like that, and that he'll work year-round and at great risk to meet his end of the deal. I just think it's fun to imagine.)
