Oh i will next week as well when ND is 0-3.... Were you even board last time they were any good?

Assuming you mean born, I attended games where Holtz was coaching as a little kid. Don't remember but was there. You can hate on ND all you want but it doesn't bother me, you know where my loyalty lies in college football.

Is there ever a big sporting event that I would give my left nut to go to that you don't have tickets to? This game is a must win for ND and I feel good about it, Michigans defense blows.

I'm sorry PSR - can we still be friends? You're one of my favorites to read!

Are you trying to get tickets or just up in the air about what you want to do... ?

Haha I'm not mad, just jealousy seeping through. I have seen a lot of cool sporting events as well, your just beating my ass in this past year and a half. There's no way I could make it to Ann Arbor this Saturday, I'll just be watching on t.v. that first night game.

Chicago State is a thing?

Hahaha yea, the Cougars, I assume your not from Chicago. There a Division 1 school, they have nice facilities and campus.

The entire lineup from Styx went there, so did Bob Janecyk (Hawks goalie in the 70's) and Kanye West.

Unless I go to the Notre Dame game I plan on going to the Training Camp Festival. I am somewhat afraid of how many gimmicks will be going on, it was cool the first year, but that was before we ever made the playoffs and tickets were free.

I went last year with my son and have tickets to go this year. We were inside when the skating began, but those outside got caught in a downpour. It was very kid friendly IMO. They had the big blowup slide, a band, Allstate had a minivan with the new NHL Slapshot on the wii hooked up, cornhole for kids, a net to shoot on. Lines were annoying, but my son was 4 years old so he amused himself
<
Also, the merchandise booth outside had pretty good deals. Got a stanley cup champions shirt for my son for only $12. Surprising as they won the Cup 3 months before.

Of course, the bags tourney was there for the adults along with the run/rollerblading.

If adults go alone and are not in the cornhole tourney or the run, I would recommend just go to the practice.

I think it would be great if some players have auto sessions before they hit the ice.

They used to have the players doing autographs during the home preseason games. Those not playing would be doing autographs and those playing would be doing autographs the next game.

Now there are probably too many fans to be doing that though. Although it will be interesting to see how many are at the preseason games. I suggested the other day I was having a hard time selling my preseason games for what I paid for and was immediately shot down saying the "hawks" will have no problem selling out those games. Well since then I've had two calls from the Hawks asking if I'd like to buy extra preseason tickets.

Welcome aboard too.

Yea I loved when they did the pre-season players signing thing. Can't even count how many of those cheep roster sheets the guys were giving out at the door I have signed. With so few fans it was great to have that kind of access to the players and actually have time to chat.

I have to say Lapointe and Aucoin were two of my favorites to chat with at the time since they were both so open and approachable. We still get a chuckle at my, then, 5 year old niece looking at Aucoin's crooked nose like WTF. Aucoin caught on and had fun with her about for about a good 5 minutes.

In any case, I would have loved to have made the festival this year, but work kind of overruled. At least it was not the wife this time.

Roster is up.

Hossa will miss the next couple of days, attending Demitra's services.

Kane will take it easy for the start of camp, but if he had to go now, he's ready.

Sharp is on schedule but probably won't see any preseason or if any the very last

Crawford will get three preseason games.

Olesz has a spot, although they are not sure where to put him.
