When you have the option of hiring one of the top coaches in the NFL or a coach from the CFL you hire the CFL coach, no brainer. When your DC is obviously incompetent and responsible for the 2nd worse rush D in history, you keep him, no brainer.

Despite my disbelief that the Bears will do anything, this meeting could lend a shred of hope. It could have been Emery instructing Trestman that Tucker is gone.

We can hope.

This is a once in a lifetime type beating or in our case back to back games. You cannot keep status quo and tell the team everything is ok with the performance we are seeing on the field.

They just got as humiliated as they possibly could on national TV. Things like this force GMs to do something just to save face themselves. I'd guarantee at least Tucker gets fired this week.

What this team is looking at right now is 5 games of the next 6 at home, and the fans are in a bad mood.......this team has been embarrassed on national TV, but they have been saved by being on the road, now they have to play n another hostile stadium, Solder Field, they need to do something or the roof will totally colaspe on this bunch.

I'll believe it when I see it. Tucker's dismissal is certainly warranted - maybe even Trestman's, though there's not really anyone to step in at Head Coach. But the Bears just don't do that stuff. For Chrissakes, Phil Emery is still starting Shea McClellin. STARTING him. I find it hard to believe he is going to do anything about the shortcomings on the coaching staff when he has so much ego invested in a little linebacker.
It's not about what the Bears normally do. It's something that forces Emery to make some effort to save his own ass.

I agree wholeheartedly. But Phil Emery is as arrogant as they come. A week ago he and Trestman told us all of the people to fix the Bears after the Patriots debacle "are in the building." You really think Emery's going to do a 180 7 days later? He's still digging his heels in on Shea McClellin two and a half years later ....

Especially when the CFL rules are seriously quite different than the NFL in every way...

In an ideal world, he should have been an OC, with a different QB than Cutler that would be willing to listen to Trestman's plays.

Emery should be gone also. I know he made some nice picks this year, but getting cute and hiring Trestman as well as marrying us to Cutler for 5 years instead of franchising him caused us to miss the window and have to rebuild.

Who's going to fire Phil Emery? Ted Phillips? Please ...

Oh wait - George McCaskey was going to return Bear toughness to the franchise ... Uh huh ...

Sorry guys, you can't forget who we're dealing with. The fact that there's no accountability for what's going on on the field comes straight down from the top.

If Cutler is cut after next season then it's $3m of dead money, then $2m the next year and $1m the year after that.

That isn't a marriage. Emery will pull the trigger on that bum in a heartbeat if they can get someone better.

Go ahead and lampoon it. But I'm not calling for any McCaskey's head. I'm simply illustrating why there is no accountability at Halas Hall, and why I don't think these immediate firings that everyone is so sure is about to happen won't. It starts from the top. Doesn't make me a "meatball" or "mouthbreather" for saying it, and doesn't make you a "smart" for lampooning it.

You're the one who said it. Don't get mad at me because your fingers type the truth before your pickled brain can filter it out.

So much truth in this. The fact that Emery choce Trestman over Arians is pathetic. And the fact that Arians had the balls to call out Emery recently makes me think that man is going to be one hell of a successful NFL head coach.

Calls out that dork shithead Emery for doing mock press conferences and demanding he keep assistances that Phil liked. Yeah, **** you phil. Arians told you to pound sand and your dumbshit ass is looking like a moron now while he is kicking ass and taking names.

ZERO accountablity.

Everyone on here was giving me and Hub Arkush shit for saying Phillips is a HUGE damn problem. But NO, apparently hiring your god damn accountant to be presidnet of football operations is a great idea. Especially a president like Ted who never played football...EVER
