At least Flacco will have a big tool box.

cant wait till he benches flacco for some bench riding choad because he cant throw the ball over 5 yards anymore.

flacco doesn't fit trestmans system anymore than cutler does

The shitty stuff Trestman was running this year not at all.. but the bits of last year when Cutler/McCown were throwing deep balls to Jeffery and slinging it more across the field would actually fit. It sounds like a bad fit but I think that 1st year they will do well with it as Flacco and Kubiak adjusted to work well with a system connection that didn't seem as ideal either. It's just a likelyhood that Trestmans 2nd year trend continues

I wonder if the Ravens would be interested in Marshall?

from a ravens board-

Jim Harbaugh coached with Trestman in Oakland and Ozzie was coached by him in Cleveland. They know him. I think it's a good hire. He's had success with every QB he's worked with not named Cutler.

I didn't know about the connections between Trestman and the Ravens brass. And that guy seems to have a better grasp on the Bears offensive woes than many posters here.

That is Trestman's offense, what we saw in 2013. He had to dial it down this past year because Cutler was so bad downfield and in the pocket.

I was reading the comments from a Raven's message board and a majority of the posters seemed happy with the Trestman hire

Then explain the notable dip in stats at his other stops as an OC?

I don't really know why we didn't just get Trestman as our OC once Lovie was fired, why'd we have to go and make him the head honcho?

There are hundreds of variables in every different team. On the Bears though, in 2014, the fact is that Cutler was among the worst passers in the league beyond five yards. He was also terrible in the pocket.

Agreed but Trestman has to prove he can do it for 2+ years, because regardless of Cutler, he has shown he can't in the past. Why that keeps happening to him I'm not sure.

Can't what? Tell you exactly what happened with each of Trestman's previous teams? No, I can't, because I'm not into the overly reductionist analysis some people prefer to resort to. Each team has a plethora of variables. What I said about Cutler last year is fact though, and trying to dismiss it by blaming his failures all on Trestman is futile.

The narrative that it was all Cutler seemed to have spread well across the league.. that He's had success track record isn't too great when compared to some guys he had people want to brush away like Jake Plummer

Mostly because the HCs and entire staffs were changed.

He didn't last the years after for that reason... but the 2nd year has usually always been bad under him which often was apart of that firing. And the 3rd year he had was bad too in Arizona, don't let fools like Despro repeat the same narrative over and over when it's easily look-upable that he hasn't ever lasted to a 3rd year as a OC.

You can always look it up. Trestman becomes predictable over time and players besides Gannon don't seem to like him that much
