I heard that Grimson got banned, is that true?

Grimson is now relegated to the Off Topic forums.
Since we are still going through moderation changes, and updating rules and general forum etiquette... to have a clearer understanding it would be helpful to know why a poster is banned from a forum. I really appreciated when there was a "Moderator Decisions" (or whatever if was called) thread -- that copy/pasted the derelict post, and moderator wrote what the post was violating, and the corrective action decided. This would be helpful to know how the forum is being moderated. (Obviously the derelict post content can be edited if absolutely necessary, like a porn link.)

Plus, I read one of the moderation changes is more collaborative decisions and not one mod making a solo ban decision -- which makes things more transparent and understandable for all forum contributors. A quick copy/paste and explanation will go a long way in speeding up the learning curve, less contributors getting themselves banned, and in creating a stable forum culture.

I think it's all still a work in progress. I'm not sure that the Grimson ban was a committee decision by the mods, and not aware there was any banning for related back and forth with him. Did that Parkway Drive idiot get banned? He seemed to be the biggest ****poster here after the loss...

Case in point: there's definite confusion about Grimson's partial ban. If we take the opportunity to explain violations/bans the forum contributors will be better able to understand the new rules and process, not to mention avoid any negative feelings towards the site because of confusion over mod bans.

Just to touch on a few things:
-Village of the banned will not be coming back nor will a corrective action thread. That's silly.
-Rush explained the Grimson ban in here.
-It's pretty clear in the forum guidelines what is and isn't tolerated and that posters receive warnings. If a poster is banned(temp or perma) he's been warned at least once and the mods are in agreement on it.
-We are working as a team. No one cares that much about 99% of the warnings/bans that we are going to explain every single thing that's done because Grimson can't post in the sports area anymore.
-If someone has a question on a ban. PM a mod.

Parkway was warned for his personal insults. He's free to post whatever opinions he wants on the Bears after losses as long as he keeps the personal stuff, etec out of it. If you don't want to read his posts. Place him on ignore.

Yeah I don't care about Parkway ****posting really, just thought it was in excess of what Grimson was posting, as far as what I saw. Not judging anyone's judgement, only commenting objectively based on what I saw.

This was Parkways 1st warning. It wasn't Grimson's.

Whoa, @firsttimer when you say "can't post in the sports area anymore," is that in perpetuity?

Don't know.

More than likely. He had multiple chances. Kind of messed them all up.

Don't be an asshat. That's what I picked up from Rush being the only rule.

Are you Team Lead Moderator or is the Mod organization more flat? Trying to get a picture on the hierarchy

Seems like the Bears moderator group is in the process of defining roles. Oober has barely been around, Jamais has stated he doesn't believe in being heavy-handed, FT is the most vocal in addressing community inquiries. Makes for an interesting committee if they act independently with such differences in approach....
