Mitch is as good a qb as we've had in a long time.

That said QBR is a joke measure. No one in their right mind would take him over Rodgers. Yet he's 10 places above Rodgers in QBR.

Just say he's done more good than bad and will only get better.

The main reason people are mad at Trubs is because the playoffs are in sight. We all said give the kid time and there would be growing pains this year. All of a sudden, we cannot face this reality. The numbers he is on Pace for passing and running are outstanding for a developmental second year QB who did basically nothing last year. It's also a good thing that he plays much better in the second half, so pressure of the game isn't an issue. He will eventually find that touch and land many of his first half misses, but we should all be thankful he looks like an NFL QB.

He could have done more to win a game or 2 but no one can honestly say that we lost a game because of him. I know the response will be that you want the 2nd pick in the draft to win games for you but it's a bit much to expect this early in the process. Talented QBs with this much experience usually also lose you games they shouldn't while winning some as well.

He and Nagy have taken a slow and steady approach to this which should have us with a better record than we do. It's been D breakdowns that have been more significant to our record. There's a real lack of perspective in some posters and where he got drafted should never be held against a player. They don't do the picking.

I suspect Mitch will get a little more tweaking with this staff in the offseason and come out blazing next year. Maybe not (QB development is difficult to predict) but D's are already having to account for him in a big way. As for the Jay Cutler comparison. In 12 years, Jay's only topped a 90 passer rating once (92) and it was also the only year he had less than 1/2 as many INTs as TDs. That was the year he was throwing jump balls to Alshon, Marshall and Bennet while Forte was taking short tosses. Mitch>>>Cutty Snark.

He has been good.

He just has not been consistent. I think the critics at this point admit that he has talent and he can put up numbers, but it is the lack of consistency that has people put off or upset.

He was having bad halves, against the Jets he had a bad quarter. That is improved consistency.

You have to be consistent to have a shot to be considered good in my book. Also if you want the chance to win SBs...

led the offense down for a FG late in the pack game. I blame the defense obviously. I don't blame him really. Pats is a diff story.

Yes he is getting better which is exciting to see, he does need to be more consistent, but at least his "inconsistent" isn't Cutler/Grossman.

Offense scored 16 points which is unacceptable. First game so you can chalk it up to them still learning but offense was not good that game. D also dropped the ball literally and figuratively as well. More than one unit can be responsible for a loss.

Sam Monson (high level PFF guy) was on his show yesterday and mentioned the guy that Trubisky is now starting to remind him of... Tebow. Ouch. FWIW, PFF has him as the 33rd ranked QB behind Josh Rosen, Eli Manning, CJ Beathard, Blake Bottles, etc...

What? So you're saying if a fan thinks Trubisky didnt play the best and comments as such, it doesn't mean they think Mitch is THE problem? There could be other issues as well?

This is ccs....its supposed to be all or none here, isnt it?

I think he's better than Tebow, as Tebow never showed any NFL accuracy. But Trubs misses are very Tebow-like....

Just goes to show you what PFF’s worth is.

As of right now, I would think it's lack of experience driving the consistency issues, which are driving the accuracy issues. Experience is being gained every week. I'm optimistic the rest will follow.

Interesting. Tebow was so unique that I don't think any current QB "reminds" me of him. Despite CCS claims that Trubisky is "accurate" and is good at "deep passes", Trubisky has left a lot of yards and TDs on the field, so to speak. Perhaps all of the missed deep passes and TD passes in the endzone makes Trubisky's PFF score terrible.

I have a hard time trusting both factions.

That isn't all QB categories......that is categories you hand picked..

completion percentage, yards per game, total yards, yards per attempt...those are categories too

I’m referring to the stats most analysts reference first. I didn’t mean it literally. No one is top 10 in EVERY stat

I would say more like Bortles than Tebow. Blake could throw up some nice numbers at the end of the day, but he rarely passes the eye test...Hopefully he ends up better than that, but man he's got some real accuracy issues on the outside. His inside and middle throws seem to be better

Trubisky is getting worse and worse as this thread progresses. Maybe the mods should lock it before he becomes Jonathan Quinn.

I’m pretty sure Tebow had a 47.9% completion rate for his career.

Actually not. Tebow would miss everything except long balls. Always threw a nice bomb. In his good year, he had a 72 rating, 46% completions and this one is surprising, a 38 QBR. Just shows how useless and flawed QBR is. It's supposed to be a formula for overall contribution including running etc. There is no commonality here between Mitch and Tim other than both can run and both miss some throws but that's like saying both are also like Watson.
