New England was NOT trading him pre-draft.

So you're saying (with just a wee bit of hindsight) the Bears should have:

a) passed on a QB in the draft
b) hoped the Pats would change their mind and trade him during the season
c) trade away high future picks to get him
c) extend Jimmy G for big $ in spite of his very little experience in the NFL

I say this as a man who wanted Jimmy G long ago.

But this year? It wasn't practical.
