Today 4am 11 degrees the sump pump alarm goes off. Frozen hose changing time. !n 16 years here we have never had to worry about this until Jan or Feb. Took about 35 minutes because I didn't have things ready and everything was frozen hard. Bad way to start the day!

I left my hose attached..I'm worried about that now. I left numerous other things out there too, though I did bring my patio furniture inside around Halloween.

Would this be from the pipe to some place on your property? I have PVC all the way to a backyard sewer.

Out in the country so no sewers. The way our property is setup pumping the water to the front ditch works best. Used to work great except for Jan and Feb. Put a different hose on and go a different way with a shorter run and help from gravity for winter. Not this fucking year!

Probably the only time I'll ever miss living there is when it snows like a motherfucker like this; it's the perfect excuse to do absolutely nothing for several days on end.
