Updates to the Kane situation

I have heard no legit souce specifically saying she accused Kane of rape. Every souce I heard about the actual accusation proper came from souces that make JJ, Ecklund, and Berenstein look like Walter Cronkite.

If she specifically accused Kane, you're right. If the accusation was that she was raped, but TMZ...er...the Buffalo media spun it, she may have a case.

Hold the banana phone then. So Kane was publicly humiliated and crucified over an investigation in which the accuser didn't even name a perpetrator? This fiasco becomes shittier by the week to me. I thought she had explicitly accused Kane of the dirty deed. Are they even going to bother trying to identify the, ugh, sperm donors that did leave behind their marks on her clothing?

I believe the initial report from the Buffalo News was that there was investigation involving Patrick Kane and an alleged rape. I don't recall if it specifically said whether Kane was or was not the subject of said investigation (and I'm fair too lazy to go look it up now), but I think it's quite reasonable to assume that Kane was the defendant in this scenario. I don't think we would've had 3 months of all this drama if Kane wasn't the alleged perpetrator.

The other problem is that the public becomes selectively forgetful of what and how they read, confusing reporting for accusations, and editorials.
This has been a perfect storm for the media, and the only way the media in Chicago will talk hockey in the summer months.

If her explicit accusation was that Patrick Kane raped her (regardless of what we know), her case went up in flames like Vancouver after losing the Stanley Cup.

If her accusation doesn't explicitly name her attacker she may still have a leg to stand on. It might be splitting hairs but I think it's an important point. If there was only allusion to Kane being the rapist it's not a direct "Kane Raped Me."

Again, nothing is concrete. She very well could have fingered Kane <pun intended>, or her story could have just implied he was involved and TMZ, Buffalo Branch ran with it.

Kane will more than likely not get charged with anything but as was said before that will have no impact whatsoever on if he actually was involved in a rape. If he was in bed asleep when this happened, or was actually the rapist or one of the rapists we probably will never know. But all three scenarios mean he was involved because it was at his house. To make any assumption on any sort of involvement or non involvement is rather fruitless.

The only way that we would ever know for sure if Kane is totally guilty or not guilty is if this goes to trial which is about as likely as the Bears having a winning season this year. That is the only "smart" bet.

How about this?

I actually think if they can determine who's DNA it was they might be able to shed some light onto what actually happened that night

For example lets say one of these two scenarios happen.

#1 John Doe's DNA was found on the victim, he is arrested, it goes to trial, he is found guilty of rape but it is determined Kane just hosted the party.

#2 John Doe's DNA was found on the victim, it was determined thru trial that Kane held the girl down while he raped her, John Doe is charged with rape and Kane is charged with helping commit the crime

I think this is why the case is not proceeding one way or another, they are trying to find out who's DNA it is. Because it is still likely something terrible happened to that girl at Kane's home.
