I understand that Ron Paul wants to end the unfair advantages/monopolies which giant corporations are able to lobby their way into receiving. And, while I like that mentality compared to the other candidates, I still have my reservations about voting for a candidate who seems to want to abolish nearly every government program. Their needs to be a healthy balance between capitalism and socialism. Ron Paul seems to be a pure capitalist in his mentality.

Just get rid of bureaucratic programs. You know, stuff the state level does anyways. And he wants to save the beneficial functions that are done at the federal level, and move those into other existing programs.

You see, politicians found this excellent way to engineer money federally. They add layers to the government that already exist, then people don't understand why we would cut them.

I had to move a little bit to center to like Ron Paul, I would actually cut one hell of a lot more than him. He's only cutting about 1/8th of the federal budget. I would cut 45%. Plus, I don't like that a Paul Presidency would actually get the federal government more revenue. I don't want to see the federal government in a position to just make an easy surplus again, then get back to bureaucratic spending habits.

If the Federal Government gets into a position to have a surplus again, they should put the entire surplus towards the national debt, and be done with it then. Thats what George W. should have done instead of his massive tax cuts for the 1% (And a little bit for everyone else).

I don't mean deficit surplus. I mean overall.
