Reading in depth team analysis from a national outlet is pointless....they are looking at 1000 ft view of things.
Bears supposedly had a great offseason last year...great new coaching staff, dynamic young WR, hotshot GM 'winning' the draft...improved from 5-11 to 6-10.
Three years ago, Forte was in the top 10 in both rushing and TDs. #2 in rushing and # 8 in TDs. This information is readily available with the invention of the internet.
Yeah, the Bears really improved this offseason by getting rid of Gase. His play calling is what held the Bears back. More Go routes to Mariani should have been in the playbook.
Our offense's have always been terrible and I honestly can't remember a year where Forte was top ten in rushing or td's. Please feel free to show me something.
Your terrible example of using Lynch and Langford shows your bias my man. How many more rushing attempts did Lynch have over Forte? How many td's? If you are going to use ypc against Langford then I'm going to need you to travel back to 2009 and start complaining about Forte as well. You remember his ypc, don't you?
Yes, 2009 was his worst year in ypc. His worst year was better than Langford has shown so far.
Again, nobody is saying the new backs are going to be bad, just that until the new offensive players prove that they can do the job of the ones they've lost, analysts are going to view the offense as having taken a step back. It's not even just the backfield. White has yet to replace Marshall's production and Whitehair has yet to show he's as good guard as Slauson. Try and get past your bitter downplaying of a great Bear who isn't even on the team anymore and see this basic common sense.
No, Forte was #7 in rushing in 2008 and #8 in TDs in 2008. So in total its actually 4 times. You've been wrong about this every step of the way. Please stop.
I'm curious as to what will happen first...1) you will stop talking about this, or 2) you will state factually correct information.
No one is downplaying anyone. You are just being bias while using terrible examples that are easy to counter. White might not be as good as Marshall? You don't say? But how do you know without seeing. It's human nature to be wary but foolish not to try to figure out what might happen
Around week five reality will punch me in the face.
I'm curious to if you are adding his receiving td's?
OK...look at your statement. Look at my responses. When the NFL produces a list of "top 10 - touchdowns", do they exclude receiving TDs?
He was a very good runner as well. Great one cut and one of the best outside runners in the league.
Forte career ypc 4.23
Marshawn Lynch career ypc 4.25
Jeremy Langford 3.60
Lynch, who was considered a "beast" of a runner gained one extra yard every 50 carries than Forte.
So no, it won't be "just his receiving" that will be missed.
How many times can we possibly rehash that Forte was a great player for us, will be missed and were moving forward?
