He was a very good runner as well. Great one cut and one of the best outside runners in the league.

Forte career ypc 4.23

Marshawn Lynch career ypc 4.25

Jeremy Langford 3.60

Lynch, who was considered a "beast" of a runner gained one extra yard every 50 carries than Forte.

So no, it won't be "just his receiving" that will be missed.

You are right! That one year sample size on Langford is truly demonstrative.

Gase's play calling last year was for the most part top notch.

Yeah, have to agree. The only game that pissed me off was the Denver game when called a first-down run on basically every 1st down even though the runs were either stopped behind the line or a minimal gain. But I wouldn't be surprised if Fox mandated that he ran the ball every time that game

Count on your fingers from 22 to 32.

Now, how many fingers did you count?
I think I need Mel Brooks help.

Kevin White has the potential to be a 100+ catch 1000+ yards 8-10tds type of player....we just dont know it yet. Most of Forte and Martys stats will be going to him.

Not to mention Jordan Howard and Langford.

Would you not say the OLine has been improved from last year?

No. We lost the "great" Matt Slauson. According to PFF, he was just so great.

Bears had a great offseason. Alshon tagged..Old players gone.. Solid back up qb check..solid fa pickups..check. Getting kevin white back..check! Draft which many draft grades have put the bears in the top 3. Who wrote this article? A packer fan?

You might be the only person who actually believes Slauson wasn't a damn good player for us both as a guard and in a pinch at center.

Would you not say the OLine has been improved from last year?

Hard to say right now. Monty last year was better than what Grasu was last year and only Grasu remains. Lots of ifs on whether he'll be able to play with the big boys now. Grasu's replacement is no longer on the roster.

We are speculating that our 2nd rounder will be able to start and play at least as good as Slauson.

We are hoping Massie plays as we hope he will. There were some negatives listed in regard to him.

I know Long will be fine and I believe Leno will be fine too but people still have the Mills hype in their memory banks.

The backups in Ramirez and Larsen have to be better than Ducasse and Omameh. Ramirez is VERY OLD by FoxPace standards and Larsen simply graded out terribly last year. Slauson would be an immediate upgrade over both of them and he already knew the system and had some chemistry with Leno.

Right now an improvement is based on hype and conjecture. It is easy to see there are many questions that need to play out.

The article:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/05/03/ranking-nfl-teams-offseason-grades/83833336/

22. Chicago Bears: A defense that made great strides in 2015 under its new 3-4 alignment should further benefit with rookies Leonard Floyd and Jonathan Bullard joining the front seven. However an offense that has a hole at left tackle and bid adieu to RB Matt Forte and coordinator Adam Gase could suffer a significant setback.

The blog complaining about it:

http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2016/...nfls-worst-offseasons-according-to-usa-today/

The blog is incorrect; #22 would be the 11th worst, but the point still stands I guess.

I read that but I think the Bears had a very good off season. Could have been made better only by dumping #6

Great player but I don't think his departure is going to be the difference between the Bears winning or losing any games this year.

Whitehair should basically be ready to step in day one and be competent.

Actually, you're wrong again. I have never said he wasn't a good player, I (just like the front office) realized he wasn't some elite guard. But PFF said he was the second best! LOL....

Slauson has meetings with the Chargers and Bills.
Hope he finds work... Just not in the NFCN
