I have several people in my office who appear to be useless.... I know vaguely what area they work in but they don't see to actually provide any value.

Anyone else work with people like this?

Wouldnt it be poetic justice if the people in you office were talking about a useless pigeon boy?

I don't think so... at the very least because people talking bad about someone does not actually serve any justice.

It would be pretty funny doe

I used to work with one of those.

She was the secretary who was supposed to be taking my messages while I was working on bids. She failed to do so.

Pissed me off to no end, so I got even. While her fat ass was bent over a file cabinet, I gently looped a paper clip onto her rear belt. Attached to this clip was a sign that read WIDE LOAD.

She left for lunch with said sign still attached, returned in a very bad mood.

No you didn't

I did, and was fired a month later for calling my boss incompetent...which was true.

I had to learn how to make $$ on my own, wouldn't keep my mouth shut b/c I refused to play corporate politics.

Yes. I work in a union shop so there are a bunch of people(mostly the guys that have been there for more than 10 years) there that have completely lost touch with reality.

Actually, no. We don't have this problem in my actual office. Now in corporate, that's a whole 'nother story.

I should probably elaborate on my OP...

There are 2 main dudes I am talking about.

Dude A is on our business team.... he was tasked with handling our biggest, most important client, and as far as I can tell all he does is schedule meetings, takes roll call, and then he zones the **** out. Last week we had an hour long call with this client and myself and their Data Warehouse manager and the VP who deals with us discussed how to solve some problems they have within our system and when we got finished talking this guy chirps up and basically says "Hey can we go back.... I missed... (everything)" and wanted us to repeat the entire discussion for him. I gave him the 20 second cliff notes of what we needed to do and on the phone with the customer he says "Ok I will just have them e-mail me the details and then I will put it in a ticket for you".

Dude B floats in some kind of grey zone.... he reports to my boss on the IT side of things but he is not technical, definitely more of a PM or a BA. The only task I know he tried to complete was updating a spreadsheet which has every data file we receive from each of our clients and the fields for each of those files. Me and my team gave him the list of termed clients to take out and the list of new clients to add and a month later he showed me a sheet which only had termed clients in it. Also, we have caught him sleeping in the bathroom stalls on 3 separate occasions as of last week. One day he came in sometime in the morning but never came in to the office, went right to sleep in the bathroom, and then around noon he came strolling in from the bathroom to start his day by going out to lunch.

I mean it is one thing to be shitty at your job, I deal with that too and I try to help people get better at their job if I can.... sometimes these people want to be shitty and they end up getting fired. But these dudes just genuinely don't do much of anything all day long... sometimes they have stuff they could be doing and they don't do it.... then we yell at them for it.... and a month later we see the same thing. I think both are headed down the slope towards being fired.

As for people talking about union workers who don't do shit, I know about those lol.... my Dad was an AT&T technician for 30 some odd years and he was one of those lazy fucks for the last 4 years.
