Lots of Bandwagoners for sure , but there is a whole new generation of Hawks fans who will follow the Hawks with their hearts. I am happy hockey is in the spotlight in Chicago. Those of us who have played the sport at various levels and have followed the sport for most if not all their lives know it is the greatest most action filled sport in the world. Lots of new young fans will be hooked for life. The youth hockey programs will see a huge surge. This is great for the Hawks and great for the NHL.

Seeing all the montages, the parade itself, the Cup being lifted when it arrived at Michigan and Wacker, the Hall of Famers being there to savor the moment... I cried the entire time and yet I still can't believe what I saw. We truly did bring the city together.



Total estimated attendance - Almost 2 Million... almost 250,000 more people than the 2005 White Sox Championship Parade. I've never seen anything like this. around 40,000 partaked in the Anaheim festivities, so yeah, 2010 is definitely more special in my eyes.



The only thing that ruined it for me - There were two idiots that had banners constantly flying in front of our eyes. They blocked the view of many. People asked that they put down the signs, and they refused. Some idiot then intentionally broke a vodka bottle and almost swung it in front of a 9 yr old. I'm glad the cops got that idiot out of there. Then there was the fact 5 people had to be taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion. Ruined the moment for me for at least 20 minutes.

There actually was another video screen set up further south on Michigan, that we only found accidentally because we were walking to a bar to watch the rally. We kept walking to the bar because at that time we just wanted to get out of the crowd (if for no other reason than there was a lot of glass on the ground and we were wearing flip flops).



LOL at people lying about their fandom. I told you guys I was new two years ago, who cares? You welcomed me with open arms.



I did get to momentarily make eye contact and yell "Thanks Cliff" at Cliff Koroll during the parade. When I was at Game 1 of the SCF, my friend went to another suite and came back with a signed program from Cliff for me. So even though he had no idea what I was thanking him for, I think he enjoyed getting a cheer.

We're not mad at you... trust me.... But there were definitely bandwagon fans yesterday.



I heard more "Lets Go Blackhawks!" chants IN THE RALLY AREA! Me and the rest of the people in my area shouted "Lets Go Hawks" to change that... -.- My God, it made me sick to my stomach! I didn't think I had to do THAT during the rally.... *sigh*
