If you want BJ this is great. Now we are competing against teams without legit QB options and horrible ownership outside of the Saints.

It’s the tallest midget contest for BJ!

No one wants the saints either because of the cap situation. They are far and away the least appealing option.

Jags are the biggest competition, depending on what BJ thinks of trevor lawrence. I personally would not hitch my wagon to the trevor salvage project

On the Monken train. Something about Ben J. scares me. I also wanted Nagy so… I should shut up.

Maybe the fact he's been an OC for only 2.5 years in an absolutely perfect situation to be an OC?

He's the guy I would be least shocked to see fail out of monken, brady, and him.

He seems very intelligent but who knows how he will lead a team. Nagy also seemed great until the losing started.

Good.

Felt way too many people were willing to ignore how he went 6-18 in his final 24 games. His roster was pretty full of talent, despite trading AJ Brown away.

Not a lot of fans who wanted Vrabel could provide a good argument or explain how he’s learned from his crash/burn to end his titans tenure as HC, and how he’ll be different this time to make him the guy before anybody else. The most I can understand was that he’s “tough.”

I’d also (gut feeling) take Joe Brady over him.

And that's the difference, they got rid of a coach one year in seeing that a better option was available. Also, they knew who they wanted weeks before the end of season and prepared for it.
I expect a mild mannered passive guy that will end up fired for old cos play costume pictures while in college.

Honestly that is a terrible look for the organization.

Vrabel wouldnt have won any more games for the pats this year, that roster is ass. Mayo never got a fair shot.

Yes, but.....I also think that because it's such an obvious upgrade, it shows their willingness to win. Fair shots don't exist in the NFL,its dog eat dog. The Rooney rule mock and the firing were both cold, but no one will remember it if Vrable wins.

Not me.

Low ceiling coach, sure he'd turn the bears around but id rather swing for a home run then get a mediocre coach who ran 1 top 10 defense in 7 years.

Not trying to go defensive HC anyways. Give me an offensive mind like brady, monken or ben johnson to unleash caleb.
You mean a HC who averaged 18th in offensive ranking in his 6 seasons isn’t the right fit for a young 2nd year QB?

No one knows if its an obvious upgrade, like I said the roster is shit. Maybe mayo is a good coach, who knows?

Vrabel has run one top 10 defense in 7 years, he's a mid tier coach. People act like he's andy reed coming from the eagles with multiple top 10 offenses(7 in 12 years I believe), and going to 4 straight conference championship games.

That organization is as poorly ran as the bears, outside of having a shamrock up their ass and getting brady.

Lawrence is still in Jax and Raiders have a high pick to get a QB. There is also the potential to sign Fields or Darnold in FA or trade for McCarthy.

Vrabel will not be a low ceiling coach because he will bring in McDaniels who won’t be leaving. That combo is easily the safest of this cycle and certainly can win a Super Bowl, it just sucks they have ties to the Patriots and they made that move.

I think for the Bears it’s always been Ben Johnson. I don’t think that’s changed at all. I’ll be shocked if he actually chooses the Raiders.

He doesnt coach offense but I understand what you are saying, he does pick the OC.

Im more worried about the fact he was poor his last few years and his defenses were never really even that good.

I'm actually very happy he didnt come here. They should pair caleb with an offensive mind, not a defensive guy like vrabel/flores.

Still cracks me up that ESPN 1000 and reddit was crying nonstop about not brining vrabel into the building. It was clear once the pats fired mayo that vrabel was the coach. Shit, he likely prtobably even told the bears this.

Patriots fired Mayo one week ago. They've hired a HC.

The Bears fired Eberflus six weeks ago. They're doing the college campus job fair tour.
The Pats hired Mayo one year ago without interviewing anyone else because he was Kraft's handpicked chosen successor.

So let's not pretend the Pats have shown smart decision making post Brady and Belichick. Vrabel was a no brainer for them because of his former tied there.

What more can they do? Lot of coaches they have/plan to interview are still in the playoffs. Including 3 of the offensive minded candidates. Not like they can hire anyone right now.

The raiders have the 6th pick. Neither TEN or CLE are trading out of 1/2, you can pretty much bet that Cam Ward is a brown and Shadeur is a Titan.

So do you think they are taking Dart at #6? Or do you want the guy who cant throw in jalen milroe? Maybe ben johnson would like to coach Aidan O connell? How about a free agent 5th year justin fields? Could I interest you in a washed up aaron rodgers? Sam Darnold would be the only viable option but thats a giant risk in itself and will cost 40-50m.

Yea, options are pretty trash at QB. Outside of brady unretiring I see no reason why BJ would want to hitch his wagon and potentially risk his only chance at a HC gig to the raiders.

Jax is a very likely scenario, as trevor has a load of talent. But he's been paid like a top 5 QB and has severely underperformed, that roster also is worse than the bears and has less money.

They should force the Lions to fire Ben before the playoffs start obviously.

He’s responsible for all phases of the game. And his offenses were piss poor. He played in a weak division at the time. Those offenses would not cut it in the NFC North. He would not a good pairing for Williams.
