dmelt the blackhawks advocate back at work.

bloggers and stuffz

(Using logic + listening and reading the views of multiple intelligent hockey minds) > (using the letter z to mock anyone who defends the team they love + hating every player on the aforementioned team)

Seriously the opinions in this forum are the kind of thing that gets mocked everywhere else in the sports world. But since you're the mod, those types of opinions are in the majority here. It's poisoning minds.

It's not edgy or contrarion to hate on a player coming off a down year, especially since that player has an offensinve personality.

He was a point-per-game player the previous two years and there's no reason to think he won't be next year. Trading him when his value is at an all-time-low is the epitome of what-have-you-done-for-me-lately sports fandom.

On a related note, Trade Dunn! Start Lillibridge!

bloggers? really? ok

Reassuring oneself by reading something someone wrote whether it is an actual professional analyst or a blogger is just like the the father of a 3 year old who has a 102 temperature and that father stating everything is going to be ok, and he is right it will be ok in a couple of days. But at some point that 102 temperature will comeback in that childs life. self-reassurance is a mental weakness in any avenue of life. This one is small on his part, but still self-reassurance and still very very weak.

Great he average a point per game. It does not change the fact that he is better than his numbers would indicate, a lazy player, and a player who not only parties like all the other athletes in the world, but goes all in when he does which is a recipe for disaster.

I know some people here think he is the coolest and its lulz and stuffz but there is a pattern here. It goes beyond his play in hockey, there are lives that can be lost in an instant due to his negligence. he not only pushes the envelope to the max, he is also a very stupid drunk. To think he wouldnt get in a car and kill himself or another person is complete idiocy. People like to ignore all of this because he is a hawks player. Like i said, if this was a player on a rival the comments would be completly different.

Dany Heatley can maybe give him some advice..no?

ps- Being a mod should have nothing to do with how I feel about specific fans and fandoms and opinions about players. its the internet.

you also have dumb asses that just use the thank button and look for someone that says something positive so they feel better about the specific situation without actually posting a thought more than "lulz" which is where my "z" sarcasm has come from. I dont hide the fact that I cannot stand meatball fans, nor should i.

People who have blogs couldn't POSSIBLY know anything about hockey. People in forums, however, are experts.

I really don't care if he drinks too much or if the things that get reported make him sound like a menace. If all you knew about my personal life were the 3 worst things I did in college, you would think the same thing about me, and I'm not like that at all.

I understand your point.

No one is saying that messageboard users are experts ( the only one I know is....nevermind not going there ) Its the fact that someone is using a blogger for self-reassurance on the specific situation.

Sure kids drink and party. Patrick Kane is an athlete and can be a very good one if he doesnt mix the two. He also has a lot of money and with money and being a chicago fixture comes narcissistic tendancies which can be on a small scale bad for the team, and on a larger scale bad for his life and others around him.

you cannot deny that the patterns here are more than just a guy drinking. where there is smoke there is fire.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.....just some need to have their own thoughts instead of others, some need to post more than "lulz" as well.

Right. That's where maturity/learning has kicked in--you aren't the same person you were then nor do you make similar mistakes. I can say the same thing about myself. We've learned. We don't know when it will kick in for him or when he realizes to enjoy life without bringing negative attention to himself. Maybe he'll learn the easy way and maybe he have to learn the hard way (when something bad occurs).

I do brush it off more easily because it's the offseason, but I'll concede it is a pattern. There was that time when he was rumored to have been too hungover to get his ass to practice--which, with how I was reared, is totally unacceptable.

your entitled to your opinion and thoughts on specific topics whether I or anyone else agree with it, find your opinion fascinating or just plain stupid.

Well I know that much.

It just seems like your outrage in particular is really phony. I get that people do love to get upset over stuff. It's fun and it's a popular thing to do. Something happens and it's a perfect opportunity to yell about how terrible it is and how you can't believe it or proclaim some sort of superiority.

But embarrassing photos and anonymous frat boy stories? That's a little weak.

Well, atleast this story hasn't progressed yet. Hopefully it doesn't and it doesn't get past the internet. I said this in another forum, and I hope it is true - if Kane really did choke a girl around a bunch of drunk guys...don't you think he would have gotten his ass absolutely kicked? I know I would have gone ape shit. Really hoping it doesn't get worse, otherwise I really think the Blackhawks would look at trading him to save their asses in a PR move...which wouldn't be smart on the ice in my opinion.

Also, I saw Heatley's name get brought up...and I'm actually a Heatley supporter. To me, what happened was an absolute travesty. Unfortunately Snyder lost his life, but I think Snyder was equally responsible because I'm sure he was joyriding with Heatley, and not begging for him to slow down. Just my opinion on that, a little off topic but o well!
EDIT: Don't exactly know in what context Heatley was brought up as I was flipping through, I just don't feel it is fair when people call him a murderer...in my opinion atleast.

agree not a murderer. an irresponsible fool? yes. Point about heatley is that some athletes/famous people tend to push the limits, again narcissistic tendancies that occur when granted a ton of money and fame alot of the time ends in tragedy.

So, I'm not allowed to agree with anyone? I shared their opinion, so I put it on here, to foster discussion. And there are some bloggers out there who take over half of the guys covering the Blackhawks right now, when it comes to their hockey knowledge. Jesse Rogers comes to mind first.

Great he average a point per game. It does not change the fact that he is better than his numbers would indicate, a lazy player, and a player who not only parties like all the other athletes in the world, but goes all in when he does which is a recipe for disaster.

This is where you start to lose me. Making the leap from someone drinking a lot to DUIs is an awfully large leap. I'm yet to hear of Kane getting a DUI. Hey, at least he was letting the cabbie drive before he punched him out, amirite?

You being a mod shouldn't affect your opinion but it should have you doing something other than wasting this forum's bandwidth with all of your lulz bullshit. You disagree with me on everything? Fine. Tell me why. Or just put me on ignore.

Kaner made some awful decisions last weekend, but I'm not ready to crucify the guy just yet. Don't sit here and tell me he's got a problem until you can show me evidence of it affecting his play on the ice. Many people will tell you that Kane played his best hockey of the season in the last month after Toews went down. A guy with a "drinking problem" couldn't do that.

Kane's not innocent. The fact that not one cell in his brain thought his weekend binge was a bad idea suggests that he's either an idiot or just ignorant. Neither one is good. It's bad PR for the team and for Kane. I'm not going to be worried about his drinking in May. If this is still a problem in October, then we can talk. Until then, he's just has to stop being a jackass in public. That's all.
